I cant tell if you messing with me or not, but just in case: Command and Conquer 3

Yeah that TALON likes as well, so rest assured if you go from playing regular cnc3 to our mod you notice a big difference, you cant just build a small army and attack you have to use some stratagy because the defense arent make out of paper anymore, we boosted them a lot and made building stronger etc, so you just cant charge in with one unit, you have to use a little of everything, are goal is to make every unit have purpose.

Any of you guys get Frontlines? I got my copy to pick up and didnt know if anyone would be interested in playing it at all.

I think both games have pros and cons. Bf2 when it came out had serious bug issues that just never seemed to go away until the last patch that bf2 put out, but by that time 2142 was coming out, i think the balance between air and ground in bf2 was ....well not balanced at all, AA weapons sucked in bf2 and Jets where way to powerful, if you had a good pilot on your team, then it wasnt to bad, but i thought it was ridiculous. I think the SF expansion was the shit, best expansion for a game i ever played since Q2, loved the night maps and grapple hooks, etc. really enjoyable. Thought weapon balance in bf2 could use a little tweaking, the shotguns sucked and the only gun IMO that felt like it didnt take a whole clip to kill was G3. For 2142, weapon balance seemed to be better, and balance between Air and Ground is a lot better, i aint constantly being Air rapped. But the maps just didnt seem to be as fun, and as mention before, something about bf2 just seemed to be a lot more fun. Big thing i like about 2142, less bugs in the release of 2142, i havent really ever had a crashing problem with 2142. I think the Future thing is what makes 2142 fall under bf2. I am more about realism. One thing i wish both games would do is get the weapon damage like in games such as GRAW or COD4, only takes a couple bullets, not a couple clips.

I didnt think that the new SoF was coming out on PC? Thought it was just 360 or some crap...be great if it did come out on PC. Loved the org. SoF game.

How exactly? I know that most people dislike EA/Dice for bad patches and buggy games and what not. But EA still makes great games, other wise people wouldnt buy them, its funny that people hate EA but still play their games and buy their products, so they must not be as bad as they think if people still enjoy buying their goods. I think the EA/DICE bashing just comes from EA/DICE being the top dogs of manf. games right now, same reason people hate microsoft, cust they are top dog in the os market. Everyone hates the "big guy". Better get use to EA, they are buying out other brands all the time, hell they where part of the Orange Box for half life, they bought out crytek, rumors of them buying Ubisoft. They keep gamers entertained, so i dont see a problem with them.

If any of you enjoy playing CnC3, a couple of us(Talon) get together ever now and then to play when we want to take a break from FPS, we run a mod(cant remember the name) and our own custom maps that we make and find. You can find all the maps and mods that we use on our forum, talonclan.com, under Command and conquer section. We dont have dedicated server for cnc3, but what we do is use a program hamachi that connects everyone like a lan and we only have th free version, and can prolly only support abut 5 or 6 more people on it (without buying). But yeah...so if any Armory guys feel like they want to take a break and want to play some cnc3, pop in our forum and let us know and we can give the info you would need to get in our hamachi lan.

So what do you guys think so far? Im starting to really get into the game, not bad for a beta, Squad system is pretty good, love all the deployable things you get (cluster bomb a little over powering) feel of choppers is good, and good for ground vehicles as well. Does it feel like a game you guys would buy and play a lot

Yeah i noticed that, but you cant see the symbol about head unless your close to them, which you should be, my biggest issue was trying to find a squad member on the mini-map, in bf games, there are green icons for squad mates, blue for rest of friendlies, etc.....in QW, no color change and hard to see them on the mini-map (off topic..sorry) Ill try downloading beta since you can use a free fileplanet account.

Well thats a bummer, you would think that they would let everyone test the beta, you would get better results

So are the squads better in Frontlines then in Quake Wars, in Quake Wars i found it very hard to keep track of squad mates, is Frontlines better at there squads. I have had high hopes for Frontlines since they first advertised it, it was designed by the dudes that designed the DC mod for 1942, which was awesome. So i hope the game isnt a let down. Do you have to be a paying registered customer at fileplanet to get beta, or can you get it if one has a free account with fileplanet?
