CDU Clan made a $50.00 donation today, so I extended the server for 30 more days at a cost of $68. This extends the server for another 43 days, which should take us to about the 15th of April. We will take a look at the server situation when we approach that time.
  3. S Such a negative vibe...
  4. I think a 32 or 48-player Infantry server would be a great idea. It would be something I think could take off.
  5. Gator replied to Axlerod's topic in Gaming
Correct! For the BF4 server through March. It's about $75.00 a month (with stats)
  6. Gator replied to Axlerod's topic in Gaming
Wait until March = $225. If folks are willing to support it financially, then we can continue with the rental. If not, it has to go. Simple math!
  7. The map vote is generated by a Procon plugin called "Votemap," and individual maps cannot be singled out. To do this, you would have to create a map cycle with only those maps.

There is no longer Alliance, per say. The Alliance was made in part as a joint venture to aid us in the transition to Battlefield 1, which never materialized fully. The Alliance was not intended as a vehicle to extend the life of a three-year-old game. It was intended to bring us all together to play BF1 on a united front. I sometimes like to play BF4, but shortly after I start playing, the game feels old and stale to me. The hacking accusations against fellow members have gotten out of control, too, and the nastiness towards players is ugly and unfortunate. The days of playing with friendly people have reached an all time low, for me anyways. Because of this, I personally don't care if anyone plays BF4, gets BF1 or doesn't get BF1. I frankly don't give a shit. The Armory is a 15-year old clan I started back in 2002, which is moving forward with BF1. The Armory BF4 server was started as a courtesy, and nothing else. Based on participation and donations, it may or may not survive past this month. BF4 servers are costly to run, so we will evaluate its use, and make a determination as to whether or not to keep it.

  13. I didn't know you could boot from those drives. I was also looking at getting one of those in the future when the price comes down. Let us know how it work out.
  14. I just wanted to let everyone know the status on the server rentals, both present, and future. I have rented two servers, a 68-player BF4 server, which came online two days ago, and a 20-player ARMA 3 server. While we are waiting for DICE to get their shit together, some of us have reverted to playing BF4 until such time as we are able to rent our own BF1 servers. When the time comes, I will rent two BF1 servers for 6 months (best discount); one for Normal mode, and one for Hardcore. When this happens, we will have four Armory servers in operation at a tune of about $140 a month (for all servers). Donations need to keep flowing for all this to happen. Bill Gates is not sponsoring us, and the servers are not free, so... Once the BF1 servers come online, I would imagine the BF1 players will spend a majority of their time playing BF1. For now, however, and while we are waiting for the BF1 servers to come online, we are helping to build a strong player base for the New BF4 server. This should make all parties happy. If you have any thought or comments on the matter, please post below...

  17. He's good ...lol
  18. After speaking to several folks, I have decided to rent a small Arma 3 server for those interested. If folks use it, we will keep it. IP: 85.190.158.3 Port: 42000 I'm still tweaking the server settings, but for now, I am running the ACS mod (my favorite mod). So come on in and give it a try.

If I want realism, I will play Arma 3. If want to play a fun game with all the bells and whistles, I will continue to play "Normal" mode. Hardcore mode in BF1 is no good to me, but I do respect those who might like to play it. It's just not for me. I want to see name tags, and I want to see whom I just killed. I like to see the name of my teammates above their player's head so I can give direction to them if I am a squad leader. I like the Killcam after I die, because it lets me know if the kill was a legitimate kill or not, and most importantly it makes snipers stay on the move. We had UAVs in BF4 Hardcore to point out snipers before, but in BF1, they can camp like a little bitch. That's why Hardcore is so inundated with snipers, which I detest. In fact, all campers must stay on the move, which I like. When I place a landmine down I don't want to be kicked from the game because a 6-person friendly tank rolled over it. And lastly, I played recently and as soon as I spawned in I team killed multiple times. As I said ...Hardcore is not for me...

  23. Bohemia Interactive & NVIDIA present the #Armachinima Awards Create the best cinematic Arma 3 video ever, win a top-tier NVIDIA graphics card http://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/2799889/7fbd4ab3d567c84ea31adab2506fd812c32ab2f2.jpg Channel your inner-Spielberg, get your Scott on, and unleash the Bayhem. Welcome to the #Armachinima Awards! In this new contest, we’re inviting you to deliver the best Arma 3 cinematic video ever created – to entertain the troops, and to win a top-tier NVIDIA graphics card! What’s a machinima? The dictionary suggests: machinima / məˈʃɪnɪmə / noun: the practice or technique of producing animated films through the manipulation of video game graphics. For the purpose of this contest, an ‘armachinima’ is a directed cinematic video using Arma 3 game graphics. Whether it’s long or short, a full-length feature film, a documentary, a trailer, or even just an ‘experience’ – every type of video is welcome, as long as they have cinematic qualities. So prepare your storyboards, get ready to capture, enlist friends and family for (voice-)acting, and put the Eden Editor to use! But even if you’re not competing, you can participate by voting for the 10 nominees starting from February 14th. Afterwards, the Arma 3 development team will select 3 winners from the nominees, which will be announced in the beginning of March. Aside from glory, 1st place will be awarded a beastly NVIDIA GTX 1080, while 2nd and 3rd place will receive a magnificent NVIDIA GTX 1070 graphics card. The perfect prizes for those who are into gaming and video production! Additionally, all 10 nominees will receive an Arma 3 t-shirt. To enter the contest, you simply need to send an e-mail to competition@bistudio.com with a YouTube link to your entry AND a download link to the video file itself. Be sure to also include your contact details. The submission deadline is February 13th 09:00 CET (GMT+1). For more info on the #Armachinima Awards, as well as the full set of contest rules, be sure to check our website at www.arma3.com/armachinima-contest. We’ll also be updating this page with the latest entries, so check back regularly and prepare to vote from February 14th.
