Be sure to tell them to use the 'scope to do the endoscopy FIRST. The "prep" for the colonoscopy is hands-down the worst part of the ordeal (as I'm sure you're finding out by now). Don't sweat the actual procedures.
  2. Probably wondering whether or not Battlefield-5 will release by Christmas....
  3. Wow, seeing that title brought back some old memories... I doubt you'll find that sold "new" in stores now anymore, but E-Bay has a load of them. Example: 7th Legion Game on E-Bay ($20)
  4. It looks like a security head, but looks fairly stripped out. (Almost looked like a pop rivet at first glance). If it is definitely a screw, a simple screw extractor bit will work. They are fairly cheap, and an essential bit to have around, as they will "cut" into an extract practically anything with a stripped out head - phillips, Torx, SS heads, you name it. However, with a security head like that, you'll need to first drill out the post. If you have enough head flat to get a grip, then just get a set of security bits. They don't cost that much for a decent set, and you'd be surprised how often you'll find a use for them.
  5. "Scambaiting" can be hilarious good fun. We've had a few good ones going in the past.
  6. Wow, BFV. To this day, whenever CCR's "Unfortunate Son" comes on the radio I feel the barely controllable urge to mow down VC from the open side door of a Huey slick. Good times.
  7. He marched alongside of Dr Martin Luther King in a day and age in which doing so took incredible strength of character. He campaigned for civil rights and an end to racism. You lost me on the "bigot" label.
  8. You'll never get to hear it Chippy. (A) Your K-car wanna-be doesn't go fast enough to outrun the standard siren, and ( without a stereo in your car any more, there's no noise to overcome.
  9. They work, albeit a little TOO well. If you kick it on as you're closing in on someone from behind who didn't hear/see you before, they tend to slam on their brakes as they react to the rumble. Which, if you're ready for it however, can lead to a whole new kind of fun...
  10. I agree. Release dates, as well as sales & fiscal quarters and margin quotas are a huge influence on getting the game out at or by a certain date. Consider also that the PC is an incredibly varied format. Console games can be released with far fewer bugs, since there is a consistent end-user platform. So many people are doing home builds, that the possible combination of components in PCs make it impossible to ensure that a product works flawlessly with every possible configuration.
  11. Mine was exactly the same Merc - no launch, no errors, nada. I tried the deletion of the radial file and the other fixes, but nothing worked. I simply uninstalled, reinstalled, and patched with a valid 1.4 and I'm good as gold. (Just remember to save the controls.con file to make life easier when you reinstall).
  12. They need to make a "Cake Batter Blaster". Mmmnyumnyum. Sit around with a few cans of that stuff at night...
  13. I can not believe this thread hasn't yet degraded into a Monty Python skit...

The file that contains your rank and unlocks within that folder is, according to Activision, "unhackable". I'm sure it will be a matter of time until someone figures out a way to do it. However by "backing up" your rank and experience you're simply ensuring it is saved in the event of data loss on your drive, or resetting of stats caused by a server timeout issue (such as happened in the initial week after release) or the mod/unmod switch problem that was (hopefully) corrected by the first patch.

Wyatt, Simply go into your CoD4 install folder and find the profile folder. Copy and save the entire folder. After you restore, place the folder back in the same location. You'll retain your rank and experience, as well as all your control settings and even saved game progress in SP.
  16. Happy Turkey Day guys!
  17. I'll admit, I first played that map as a Headquarters games with about 24 people - talk about chaos (can you say " 'nade spamming"?) I was laughing so hard I could barely shoot (at least at had the laughter to blame for it...). But I later played it as a Domination game with about 16-20 people and had a blast with it. Brought back memories of UT99 with the good old Zark rifle. With a Dom game and the right number of people, 1000+ point/100+ kill games are very attainable. A great map for accomplishing those challenges as well.
  18. I was actually vote-kicked out of a server tonight for killing people, as they apparently were simply doing headshots on each other and the like to get unlocks. Pretty sad on a game in which it's relatively simple to advance. When I got an unlock, I'd simply search out a server running "Shipment" and get my required kills in a matter of minutes to unlock the toys.
  19. Sad

Wolfey, I've been down that path with two dogs. It's never an easy decision, even when we know it's the right. Someone shared this story with me when I lost my first, and I've always passed it along to someone else in time of need: THE RAINBOW BRIDGE Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown...
  20. So far, I've found the most enjoyable CoD4 experience for me is a Domination game, with small teams (5-6 each). The map sizes simply aren't large enough for large groups. Line Anibis said, the old "Spray-n-pray" run and gun gets old after a while without anything further to add to the game.
  21. Hard not to believe when we've got one living right here in PA. Just photographed last month: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,307020,00.html. Follow the in-story links for a few more pics. You thought it was bad stepping in a pile of dog poop, you have any idea what one of these guys leaves laying around?
  22. Nadril, I have no idea. I just upgraded from a 3400 to the 400 CPU, and added the second GB of RAM about a month ago. All the drivers (including the MOBO drivers) are new, including a BIOS flash to get the recent upgrade working; except the new beta driver they recommended for the video - that messed up my nVidia console and nTune quite a bit, so I went back to the previous video driver. The first time I played through, I had a huge audio lag on some of the voice-overs; suit and some other audio (grunts and groans when taking hits) were behind about 3-5 seconds (almost as annoying as being on Vent with Rabid Chipmunk when he's using his darn mic and speakers...) But that lag seemed to resolve itself after the initial play though. Maybe it's Mac's "virtual system blessing" that gives me the extra 'umph'.
  23. Ok, I've put a little time into the demo. First off, I can't understand all the griping on so many tech forums about how practically nobody's system will run this thing on High settings. I'm running the Athlon 4000+, 2GB RAM, and the old 6800. With everything running stock, this runs fine for me on all medium settings. With a little go-juice, I can run it with about a 50/50 mix of high/medium settings. I'm not going to run out and switch to Vista to get the DX10 benefits, so I'm not planning on seeing the "Very High" settings anyway. People griping they need to run 8800s in SLI with quad-cores just to see High settings....I'm finding it hard to believe. That having been said, I ran a little on all-high just to get a glimpse of the graphics. Stunning. Back down to playable mix of settings (for me), the game plays a lot like Far Cry. I like the adjustable suit and the ability to customize weapons on the fly - adds a little something different to the game. I've heard that the single-player is about 4-5 hours to finish. Sad. I honestly don't see the multi-player carrying this game, considering the performance needed to play it the way it was intended to be played. Bottom line for me, if you've got the top-end system and want to see a some simply amazing visuals, and are willing to make the jump to Vista before the service packs to truly appreciate the graphics, it looks like a great game. I just don't see the masses flocking to it strictly for its game play. With all the new MP options coming out for the cold season (TF2, CoD4, UT3, etc.) I think this one is going to fall short of its expectations. And by the time Vista/DX10 and their improved shaders become a common ground for new games, this one will have fallen off the radar completely. Now if someone successfully hacks DX10 to make it XP friendly without exception (and doesn't end up kidnapped by M$ for doing so), that might change things a bit...
  24. Right here: http://www.hawkscay.com/ Incredible food, crystal clear water, no crowds, 3 hours from Phila, PA by air. SCUBA dive the reefs in water with visibility well over 100ft. A-h-h-h-h...I'm missing it now.
  25. I thought we were voting for Sanjaya just to keep his SISTER around... :lightbulb:
