I'm looking into getting a gaming keyboard, and am at a crossroads. I would like some input from my peeps. G11 = more function keys, no lcd. G15 = lcd, fewer function keys. What do you guys think?

Oh, could I get your experiences, pros and cons. Why did you choose what you chose?

i have the g15 and i like it a lot i dont use the g keys much out side of games but its nice to see whos talking in vent and ur stats and stuff for games.

Cool. I was wondering how much I would use the LCD vs. using the Extra keys.

 

If you don't use the extra keys much, then I might just stay with my ergo board.

I know your voices pretty well. We are however picking up new members so it would be usefull. I'm just not sure about the G-keys, how many do I actually need?

u get 6 with the g15 u can use them for bf2 for things like yes and no, create squad, switch weapons, and many more in the default mode u can use it to pop up ie or firefox, windows media player, if u have bills to pay it can launch the calculator or ur favortie finance program like quicken. if u use xfire it will tell u who messaged u when ur ingame. for those of us that play world of warcraft we can use them for 1 button macros for spells and other abilities. it also shows ingame stats for wow and chat messages.

 

also theres the new g19 keyboard that goes for 200 dollars but has:

I have the g15, used the g-keys only in COD4 and COD5, for the LCD, comes with few items preinstalled such as display memory usage, cpu speeds, plus i have installed applets that display the in game status for the BF2 and BF2142, quite awesome !!!

I have the Saitek Eclipse I got from a yard sale works good love the illuminated keys...

i hate to tell u but theres a bad boy in town the G19 and OMG i soooo want 1 its got like a little lcd or digital diplay in colour and lots of new toys lol dam them i just got a G15 DAM THEN ALL TO HELL lol go look at the web site.

Ergo keyboards are the best for gaming. With the keys being split, it is like a gamepad for the most part. I've never needed anymore keys then what I have infront of me already. The little lcd screen would be kind of nice. Like joe and tilgado said though, if they are a regular, you will learn who they are quickly.

I do use the keyboard to play I use N52.

 

I use the keyboard to type and see LCD who speaks on TS. 

 

But if not you can always install Overwolf from TS and it will show on your screen

I am using the G15 and then G19 for the past 2 years. The G15 was nice, but the G19 is just awesome. I like the G19 LCD that you can even play media on it...switch songs, play RSS feeds, new etc etc. Lately i use the LCD with the Afterburner software that keeps me updated of my GPU and CPU temperatures. Also compatible with the LCD is the TS you can see who is speaking or who just came in channel....

N52 and G700 and you only iase keyboard to type. Just ram all to the G700 and N52.

I love the G700, I use a standard washable Logitech keyboard though, no extras, I like it and it's simple
