DEFCON Posted March 11, 2003 Share Posted March 11, 2003 First off, i am a bit embarrassed posting this as I am usually the savvyist of savvy web servers, but even the best screw up :DAnyway, while trying to visit my fav file sharing site, their new advertiser DLed to me a dialer program called Xdiver. It even had a valid certificate and a script that wouldnt let me deny it access to my computer. Anyhoo, even after i uninstalled it, there have been a lot of bizarre internet happenings. Sites will load than suddenly launch me back to my home page, sites simply will not load period and speed slows down. Im using Opera now and that has mitigated the problem somewhat, but i want my IE 6 back Plz help or at least tell me the name of a good lawyer i can use to sue the ass off the stupid german company EOP. Its like admitting defeat to the evil programmers. Besides, i have NOrton and it wont pick up these parasites cause they are technically legit programs with certificates and everything.
