You know...I tried this game. Even though I don't play WoW anymore, Aion really made me appreciate how clean and polished WoW is. I don't think Aion does anything better than WoW. I bought it for the graphics but to be honest, the Far Cry engine is dumbed down so much that the end result is a game that looks less believable than WoW's cartoon graphics. Just my opinion though.
  3. I haven't posted in ages... I'm not trying to sound cute but the best anti-phishing software is commonsense and a good deal of skepticism. Never under any circumstance should you enter your user-name/password into any website that you personally haven't validated. The easiest way to do that is to start at the beginning of the URL and see if it matches the company website or whatever you are trying to register with. In this case steamcommunity or steampowered. Also, and I'm guilty of it too in some degree, using duplicate passwords is asking for trouble. Just be sure to try and avoid using the same passwords to related accounts. For example, your email password and steam password. I hope you guys are able to recover your accounts, especially if you have a digital copy.
  4. Most people comfort themselves with something like "God works in mysterious ways". The truth is some people are just f'ed up. And now we'll probably spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on a man that doesn't deserve another breath.
  5. I suppose I'm breaking the NDA but I'm in the beta. I played for a few hours and then uninstalled it. As did about half of my guild.

Well, I was reading they stopped optimizing Crysis to work on Warhead. But it's the same engine. Connect the dots!
  7. I don't think I've ever heard anyone compliment WoW for its PvP attributes. In fact most people seem to think PvP in WoW has gotten progressively worse as the developers tried to build it up. The arena system has failed in just about every way imaginable. They made the pinnacle of PvP revolve around small scale battles which are impossible to balance(to paraphrase Blizzard). I could go on but I'll just stop and say Blizzard's biggest mistake, in both PvE and PvP, was reducing the number of players that partake in any given battle. It just magnifies all the little imbalances and creates more of the "cookie cutter" setups that stagnate the game.
  8. I tried the open beta. It has a lot of potential, but the game was very unstable. At least for me. My PC is pretty powerful. Load times varied from near instant to over a minute, frequent crashing, and some graphical errors were also prevalent. Are these issues close to being resolved in the closed beta?
  9. I believe we figured out what caused it. Something about a disease that's found in almost bee colonies that is normally combated by their immune systems. Pesticides and other agents weaken their immune systems to the point where the disease "wins". The infected bees know they are sick and fly away to avoid spreading the disease. Worst case scenario isn't that bad, really. The disease dies as the bees do. At worst crops would struggle for a few years before the population shoots back up.
  10. AoC is one of the games I've been drooling over since I heard of it a few years back. The active combat + graphics + sheer scope of the game...so damn cool.
  11. I live in Central IL. I thought WW3 started or something, never felt one myself.
  12. So he's a horrible man for supporting the NRA and sticking up for his beliefs when they are attacked? That's pretty shallow.
  13. uh, I'm not sure I want that in the hands of johnny law.
  14. I'm a junior at Illinois State working on a masters in accounting/CPA. My only advice would be to not skip class at all until all your test/homework/project due dates are firm. After that you can decide if you need to go every day or not. I set aside 4-5 hours the day before an exam to study and so far it's working great. As for fun, lot's of it to be had in college just don't go overboard. I've known so many people that have had to retake classes simply because they slept in early 1 day too many, don't make that mistake. Good luck!
  15. Very cool read. I wonder if we'll see a scramjet/ramjet powered aircraft in our days. I really hope so.
  16. Well, coincidence or not, WoW's expansion and WAR were both pushed back and will, coincidence or not, be released around the same time.
