I've played pretty much every MMO out there and have been disappointed with everything since EQ1 with the exception of SWG and EVE Online. So, once I found out who was making Vanguard I got very happy but since I found out that SOE had their hand in the pot, I once again have my doubts. I'd love to try it but I'm cautiously optimistic.

Apparently people have misunderstood what I posted. I know that punishing doesn't take points off. Just the act of hitting a friendly anything when FF is on.

It's relevant to me and my career score. I could care less about getting kicked because I'll play on another server until the PB timer runs out. Whenever I TK, it isn't at all intentional. Regardless, my career score takes the brunt of it and unrightfully so IMHO.

Cherish what teamwork you got because it doesn't happen all too often. Great Job General!

Damn, this is some freaky weather. I actually replaced my brake pads and spark plugs today because it was a steamy 66F here in Boston, MA. Crazy....crazy. And yeah, I said steamy because it was humid and about 35F above the norm.

I used to love FF when I played 1942 but have grown very tired of it with each new iteration of BF. Perhaps it's because of the attached punishment system that it's become so irritating to me. I mean when you happen to graze a friendly vehicle or infantry, you get a negative score. Bah, I say! I've lost count of how many times I've been yelled at in a game because I used claymores to defend a flag that I knew was about to be assaulted by the enemy. Friendly players would not pay attention to the obvious skull and crossbones warning symbol, blow themselves to bits, punish and then yell at me. And what do I get for actively defending our flag? A negative teamwork score and lower overall/career score. The FF system either needs to be not enabled by the server management or the game developers need to redesign it into a better more logical and less easily exploitable system.

I can 100% verify that if you "crotchshot" a walker it goes down in a heap of twisted metal. I was playing on Sidi monday night and a walker was raping the center flag. And he indeed was sitting on a supply crate and was fully repaired. I sat with my Pilum and waited for him to come around again. He again stopped on top of the supply crate. I ran underneath him and fired into the crotch and he went down.

Outstanding, I never realized that. I'll have to give it a try tonight.

There is a time limit before you drop another ammo or med pack and is probably such to minimize point farming. *shrug*

On topic but not dealing with transports, what the hell is the deal with the rash of people playing either support or medic that do not resupply, heal or revive? I was getting so mad last night because we had a fairly strong front line. We would have pushed them all the way back and won if it weren't for those idiots not doing their duty. I've been seeing more and more of this happenning. Even though I don't play support, I would often switch kits just to drop ammo boxes for everyone else. It got me lots of points but really, what's the point if you can't win the round?

I'm sure ArmA has potential but I couldn't play it for long. Between the cumbersome handling of my soldier and horrible FPS, I can't see myself playing anything except for the demo. In fact, I've already deleted the demo. Too bad too.

Radiochemist Technician at the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Plant (owned by the Entergy corporation). I make sure the chemical makeup of every system that contains a liquid is within a predetermined band so we keep things running and not corrode and fail. Hopefully, soon I'll get accepted to the Senior Reactor Operator Licensing school. *keeps fingers crossed*

I decided to jump on in this thread instead of starting another one. I'm a BF1942/V/2 vet and got 2142 as an early xmas present from my wife. Since my own clan 2142 servers are never populated, I decided to hop on your Armory servers because they had a low ping and are nearly always populated. Let me tell you, I'm very impressed. I have a blast everytime I'm on. I'm actually challenged by Armory guys and I love it. I'm happy that teamwork actually occurs. It warms my heart to see a server run so well. No retards, no l33t speaking fools, no immaturity. I will continue to recommend your server to all my friends and clan mates. Armory servers are my home away from home for the foreseeable future.
