Crashing bug fixes are still ongoing with the PTE/Production servers in WW3. The latest patch was released to PTE for the weekend and is expected as a hotfix early this coming week. Remaining unfixed crashes are related to <1% of reasons. This should substantially stabilize the game. https://forum.worldwar3.com/index.php?/topic/7632-pte-december-update-038-patch-notes/

R6Siege Anti-toxicity Comments from Major Streamer
A prominent streamer has called on Ubisoft to strengthen their efforts against toxicity and hacking. This includes nothing particularly unique, but does urge things like better replay cameras and strengthening the rule sets in casual. One of my favorites was to add mirrored team kill damage and allowing forgiveness/punishment for team kills (e.g., WW3). Rainbow Six Siege caster says Ubisoft, players must do more to curb toxicity | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM Rainbow Six Pro League caster Parker “Interro” Mackay took to Twitch to lay out what should be done about toxicity in-game.

WhatsApp, FB Messenger and Instagram Merging
If you use WhatsApp, FB Messenger, and/or Instagram, be aware that Facebook intends to merge the backend of all of these programs together. For now, it appears they will remain separate apps. This is a backtrack on Facebook's part on saying the apps would remain separate after acquiring them. I cant imagine what any studio could do with that kind of bank roll. It's an impressive number.

Cost of Star Citizen
PCGamer published a story on how much Star Citizen is costing to make. They've already burned through $200 million and the game isn't complete yet. Looks like the majority of funding is going to salaries. Star Citizen has cost nearly $200 million so far | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM But it's also raised over $200 million.

Battlefield 5 Banned for using this
Reshade is like wearing sunglasses for an Olympic sport. I think we all agree that it should be allowed on the basis of protecting your eyes and helping you beat the glare. When might it be too much though? With augmented reality we could see a future where some athletes can get biometric feedback data through their glasses, optimal plotted routes, information about their opponent's pace/stats, etc. I think that is where reshade is at right now. We all can see some benefits but we also see the reality where it provides illicit information. Because we have absolutely no idea if someone is using it for altruistic purposes or not, it is going to be (and has been) banned in PvP environments.

World War 3 Gets Server Browser (Patch 0.3.5)
PTE was updated to 0.3.6 to address some of the known issues in 0.3.5 this last weekend. Usually the full patch goes live after 1 week of PTE.

World War 3 Gets Server Browser (Patch 0.3.5)
The best part about this news was that a server browser was being demanded by players and the devs moved it up from full release to now. They even said as much in recent interviews. That's a good sign because RSP is also on the player demand list.

Battlefield 5 Banned for using this
This sort of trick bothers me mostly because it takes out the concept of soft cover from games entirely. We've come a long way in games and soft cover/camouflage has a place in newer shooters. Crawling around in ghillie suits on Ghost Recon made covering grassy environments doable as opposed to having to have urban environments with hard cover everywhere. If you can just turn off all of the visual obstructions you don't like, it ruins the game for everyone else who is playing by the standard rules of the game. This is cheating. You are using an unfair advantage. I realize people can argue things like Reshade all day, and I get it, if you're just tweaking the game to make the colors look a bit better, it may not be cheating. If you're radically changing the graphical settings to specifically make targets visible in a way the game would NEVER allow... you're a cheater. If you want to run these graphical tweaks in single player or PVE co-op, I don't care. You're not diminishing my experience. If you run it in PVP, you're cheating and deserve whatever the game maker throws at you.

Starbarians
Looks like the Starbarians are continuing finally. This is hand-drawn piece of animation done by one guy (aside from some voice over/music help) that involves space, violence, and sex. It is also pretty short (~5 minutes each) and has been animated over a few years, with the quality getting better over time. Episode 3 came out today with 4 and 5 supposedly coming out this year. These have been hosted on Newgrounds from the beginning and are super high quality animation (nearly TV quality). Average user rating is around 4.75-5.0 which is nearly unheard of for that site. Enjoy. Episode 1 STARBARIANS - Episode 1 WWW.NEWGROUNDS.COM The Starbarians have landed... Episode 1.5 Starbarians - Episode 1.5 WWW.NEWGROUNDS.COM The Starbarians are back! World War 3 Gets Server Browser (Patch 0.3.5)
WW3 is getting a server browser with Patch 0.3.5 which should be released in the next week or so. This is an early patch ahead of 0.4.0 to address a multitude of bug fixes needed after 0.3.0 released and caused a multitude of game crashes for folks. This patch is light on features but heavy on fixes. 0.4.0 is still due soon. This may be good news for a RSP in the future. https://forum.worldwar3.com/index.php?/topic/7475-pte-december-update-035-patch-notes/

0.4 Patch Due to PTE Soon
One of the forum moderators for WW3 let slip that 0.4 is headed to PTE soon. The dev team has been taking extra time to stamp out the bugs causing crashes after 0.3. This will likely still mean a January release. The same mod mentioned the new combat helicopter drone which will be the WW3 equivalent of helicopters on the battlefield. Again, they are not planning aircraft you can directly drive like tanks. The devs feel like adding full blown aircraft will be detrimental to the feel of the game.

Bungie and Activision Split
They said it wont immediately impact Destiny 2. It will remain on Battle Net, but Bungie will be transitioning to take over production roles that Activision handled. I'd expect hiccups with releases of future patches in terms of advertising/resources. Bungie freely admitted it will have a lot to learn.

Bungie and Activision Split
Looks like Bungie and Activision are splitting over Destiny 2. Bungie will take over full control of the Destiny franchise as Activision reportedly said it wasnt performing as expected. PUBG Bans Pro Players, 30,000 Others For Cheating
That is one sophisticated cheat to use VPN packet sniffing tech to gather player location data. Makes you wonder how they detected that hack. Good riddance to these hackers. Sadly, it seems no matter the sport, cheating/hacking seems prevalent at the highest level. How many pro athletes have gone down over doping/drug use?

STAR TREK 4 Canceled - Report
Not surprising. I have mixed feelings on this mainly because I'm still torn about these films not really being Star Trek. They got the J. J. Abrahms makeover that focuses on action and wide appeal over story. I like the new films, just miss the Roddenberry ideals. Maybe this will give them room to go another direction.

Steam will not get Division 2
I'll probably use the Ubisoft platform to buy this game, but glad they are moving away from Steam.

Mixed on Doc too, but I get it. Pretty rare people survive a fire fight and can receive a heal. His hard anchor status makes him not too versatile too.

It's not super in depth but has some decent thoughts on how best to play characters. Only one is rated as a never play, but several we bring out often are rated situational. Something we may want to watch more carefully depending on maps.
