A day's just not complete without having my head blown off and my kevlar shredded by ordanance of various calibers. Good thing I've a good supply of clean underwear.

Is it true (TA closes FA) ?
Let me publicly thank the clan [TA], and Gator in particular, for the hard work and money they've invested in setting up and maintaining the Armory FA server. It's a great place to play. Good work lads. salut,

client.dll error after steam update
I've found the culprit that was producing the "client.dll failure to load" error on one of my FA systems (the other is at a location I can't check for a few days):There is a "IFC22.dll" file that was *missing* from my Half-Life directory on the system with the "client.dll" error. When I found and copied a IFC22.dll file from a working system to the system that wasn't working, the client.dll error went away (i.e. I can now play FA). Oddly, my original Half-Life folder has a copy of the IFCC22.dll that is a different size (196 vs 192 KB), but it also prevents the "client.dll" error.Final word: see if your'e missing IFC22.dll from your post-update SteamApps Half-Life folder and get/install a copy. Hope this helps.salut,---

client.dll error after steam update
Okay I've now repaired 2 different systems with the same problem as Sgt._Shultz by replacing the Half-Life directory under "SteamApps" directory with a Half-Life directory from a 3rd PC that didn't experience the same "loading client.dll" problem (post Steam update). If I find the subdirectory/file that is the culprit I will post the info as I don't think that many players with this error will have an alternate source for a "good" Half-Life directory (mine was over 400Mbytes).salut,====

client.dll error after steam update
I've had the same problem post-update with FA failing to load. An attemp to run FA exits Hl/FA with a remark about client.dll not loading. This same error occurred on 2 separate machines (same version of HL and steam installer). These systems have been running steam/FA flawlessly for several monts.I tried blob/steam.dll removal - nopeI uninstalled steam, reinstalled steam and copied my HL folder back under Steam Apps. - nopeI then copied then entire 400+ Mbyte HL folder, from under Steam Apps, from a 3rd PC that had survived the update process (it had used a different HL CD and version of steam installer). THIS WORKED, though I had to hand move sprite and cfg files to get the game back to normal.I've played 2 external server maps (on TA's server) and have loaded 2 maps standalone. NO CRASHES.I suspect the problem lies in some smaller subset of the copied folder, but can't guess what it is. Hope this helps.salut,---

client.dll error after steam update
I've had the same error as reported by Srg_Schulz on 2 separate machines with HL/FA. Both systems had been running FA without difficulty for many months; both fell on their swords after the last Steam update. I've found no report of this problem on the Steam forums, and nothing I've tried to do has changed the error (remove steam.dll, blog file, log off/on etc.). I will try the uninstall/reinstall steam route next. Am not a happy camper.--

Thanks TA
Allow me to second the opinion voiced by [DoL]-Reed: thanks for today's Scrim [TA] - t'was a whole bunch of fun (even though I dislike "Golan")More importantly thanks to those of the [TA] team that give us such a superbly run genearl admission server. I know you guys catch a lot of flak from those with verbal/finger diahorrea, but know that there are many of us (too silent sometimes) who really appreciate you keeping a lid on these energetic scofflaws. Good work.
