i already updated the video.directx,windows and it still locks up. also i can't delete run32dll.exe because windows uses it to load dll into the memory. next ill try out the ram in the morning.

Hi i have a slightly old computer its winxp pro with 1.5ghz, geforce 5600, 512 mb of ram, 40 gig harddrive. 500watt power supply. and the problem i have is that it locks up alot. It locks up no matter what i am doing i could start up steam and it locksup, run IE, use ms paint. also it sometimes locks up when i start the computer and it is loading the startup programs. i already replaced the cpu fan to a more powerful one. checked all the ram. and even put in a new powersupply and it still does it. also i ran programs to check for viruses and i didn't find any. and i fixed all the reg errors. i noticed when i open up the taskmanger i find run32dll.exe running and i looked on the internet about that file and it says it is related to some virus but i ran avg 6.0 and it says there are no virues. i don't know what to do and it is driving me crazy and i was wondering if anybody knows what could be the porblem. thanks
