I believe this issue is addressed on the main page of the http://www.firearmsmod.com website- there's a patch for 2.9 that you'd need to dl and unzip into a certain folder, I forget which. Hope that helps.

Okay, so sniper rifles don't sway as much anymore.... awesome. I thought I was dreaming when I'd aim for someone and the crosshairs would move on their own.SSG is a great gun if you can get the headshots. Otherwise, SVD is the way to go because you can put more rounds into your target faster.M82 is good if you can snipe a spot proned and podded, but otherwise the recoil on it is -HORRIBLE-. As in, reallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreally BAD.

Just because you don't have the reaction time and/or visual acuity to locate and target that spot before you're fragged doesn't mean the sniper is helmet camming. There's always somebody better. There's always somebody lucky. Nobody is invincible. It behooves you to think that you're the best thing since sliced bread and nobody has a right to kill you. As stated before, get over yourself. There's no such thing as helmetcamming people, get over it, and over yourselves.Part of being a sniper is finding great cover. More often than not the person you -think- is invisible is merely covered in shadow.I can play a pretty damned good sniper. I can also ferret out snipers pretty easily. All it takes is a bit of thinking. Also, angles do a lot to determine how easy and/or difficult it is for you and the sniper to see each other. If he kills you from one angle, go at him from another. Or, work as a team and draw his fire so someone else can take him out, then watch that spot. Presto!See guys! It's not -that- hard.

Unable to connect to validation server, error 27.How do I fix this? It only just started happening today.

I tried restarting several times, but it's cool now, after about 30 minutes or so I was able to get in.

Can't startup, everytime I click on steam or my firearms icon, I get the login thing, and it never goes beyond that, I get 'either a problem with your internet connection or the steam network.'Anyone know what's up?

Hmm. I guess that means I'll have to put Steam on my computer... I have absolutely -no- idea how to set it up though... where can I get some pointers on it?

Never needed it since 2.65... and my scroll rates, etc. have been fine. I have a 1.67ghz processor and 256mb ddr ram, so that may even it out. But I don't think it's the video card that's causing these problems.

Is write-combining the same as anti-aliasing? I'm looking at my video card settings now, and that's all I see. I use S3 ProSavage DDR, 32mb.

How do I do that? In my configuration menu, it doesn't work. And I use 1024*768 OpenGL, not 800*600. There's no change when I switch between modes either.

Unless it's HLSW... I'm not sure how many people enter the game with it installed... could it be that HLSW is slowing down every/anyone who doesn't have it installed? That would sucketh muchly if that were the case.
