  1. I too have had this problem, a few months ago..... can be a real pain. You probably have tried to reset your homepage by typing in what you like. (not a possible fix)You can set the your homepage to default, restart your computer, then change to your preferred homepage..... this has worked most of the time.If it doesn't run spysweeper, AVG6, you will get about 4 files.one will be in your registryone will be in your temporary internet filestwo will be in your Restore files.you can manually edit the registry file by going to start, run, typing in regedit, then locate the file using the path given by AVG6.you can open IE, go to tools, options, and delete your cookies and temporary internet files, (probably a good idea to clean your history too)С:\_RESTORE folder is a peculiar feature of Windows ME. You need to switch System Restore off. Do it this way: right-click on My Computer icon and left-click Properties in the appearing menu. Press the "File system" button on one of the tabs. When the window appears go to the last tab ("Troubleshooting") and check the last option ("System Restore Support"). Press OK. Close all windows and reboot the computer.BTW.... one virus program is never enough!!Use two or three to catch and remove about 95% of the trash out there.I use spysweeper, spybot search and destroy, and AVG6...sometimes I revert to cwshredder and highjackthis(but not to much) all of these are free.....hope this helps!!
