I know a lot of Americans don't care much about hockey but in the city I live of 132,000 people we have 8 players in the N.H.L. That's pretty amazing for a city so small. They are also good players not bench warmers. You might have heard of Eric Staal and Jordan Staal, wel they are 2 of the 8.

Anyway, in the city you live do you have many pro athletes out there reppin your town in any sport?

I don't really follow hockey anymore, but it's pretty big around here. There is a pretty big hockey tournament here between a few of the local schools. Don't know know how many people here follow baseball at all but Carlos Pena, player for Tamba Bay, went to my school. He wasn't even supposed to play this year and he was named comeback player of the year. He had the 4th most homeruns in the majors.

No but live few miles south of where the Memphis Grizzlies play.

 

Well, there is a player on the New York Giants from the same city we live in. His name is KEvin Dockery, he is a DB i think.

the only person of any recognition is Mike Golic from Mike and Mike in the Morning (ESPN Radio)

He's not an athlete, but i guess it counts.

Well, not in our small town, but, in Syracuse, we do. Donovan McNabb, ex Syracuse University quarterback now plays NFL for Phil. Eagles. Also, Tim Green, Syracuse University, played NFL Atlanta Falcons, and is now a famous writer, and lives in Skaneateles where I work part time, about 7 miles away.
