battlefield formula

its still in beta so theres alot of bugs and issues. hit boxes are all messed up, ping time of 100 requires me to shoot a step ahead of my target. sniper rifles to the head dont make contact at times. server list takes for-friggin-ever!

 

i'd say the highlight of this game is the remote drones. its got shiny moments but most droners often leave me to fight for a flag all by myself. no medics but ressuply boxes are stationed close to every flag. the skill specialization is pretty neat. i went support and got a portable stationary minigun which i had to set up, but once i got on, it lookd pretty badass. i did emp specialist and placed one of those emp towers which got every drone after my ass stuck long enuff for me to whack the controller with the butt of my rifle. airstrikes are usefull but haf relatively small range so require alot of precision. droner gives me a jihad copter, a machinggun mini tank, n i didnt reach the last one.

 

its slower paced than CoD4, a bit faster but certainly not as intense as battlefield, graphics are pretty good though, maps are fun as there are cracks and holes everywhere which allow me to scale certain ruined buildings.

So are the squads better in Frontlines then in Quake Wars, in Quake Wars i found it very hard to keep track of squad mates, is Frontlines better at there squads. I have had high hopes for Frontlines since they first advertised it, it was designed by the dudes that designed the DC mod for 1942, which was awesome. So i hope the game isnt a let down.

 

Do you have to be a paying registered customer at fileplanet to get beta, or can you get it if one has a free account with fileplanet?

They seemed to have ran out of keys for now, I'm not sure when they will give out the next batch. Most of Fileplanets betas are for subscribers only, which stinks, but I haven't really gotten a chance to check this one out yet.

Well thats a bummer, you would think that they would let everyone test the beta, you would get better results

They give them out every Wednesday I think because I missed the first batch and then somebody told me to check back every wednesday for keys so i checked last wednesday and there were more keys so check back tomorrow.

To identify members of your fireteam in Quake Wars, look for a symbol above the player. Non fireteam members have the green triangle while fireteam members have a symbol representing their class.

Yeah i noticed that, but you cant see the symbol about head unless your close to them, which you should be, my biggest issue was trying to find a squad member on the mini-map, in bf games, there are green icons for squad mates, blue for rest of friendlies, etc.....in QW, no color change and hard to see them on the mini-map (off topic..sorry)

It's the same for minimaps. Green triangles for friendlies and the class symbol plus an arrow where they are facing is the fireteam member.

So what do you guys think so far? Im starting to really get into the game, not bad for a beta, Squad system is pretty good, love all the deployable things you get (cluster bomb a little over powering) feel of choppers is good, and good for ground vehicles as well.

 

Does it feel like a game you guys would buy and play a lot

well all in all, its a decent game...

its got a very similar feel to battlefield, kinda like assault lines.

i'll wait for proper reviews and comments.

though i dont think it'll be a big hit...

 

this game will prolly do incredibly well on the xbox360 live than the pc imo.

Any of you guys get Frontlines? I got my copy to pick up and didnt know if anyone would be interested in playing it at all.
