i just installed HL, then updated it, then went to install CS and with it good old Steam... It took over my Hl.exe, and the only way i can play mods is through Steam...Ok so what if i want to play a mod that's not already there? For example i installed Existence, and about to install FA, and i can't even run hl.exe i found it in:C:\games\Half-Life\steam\SteamApps\*my_email_name*\half-life directorey), cause it opens Steam when i run it.... GRRRR this is messed up.this really pisses me of if some1 knows how to fun other 3d pardy mods plz respond,thank you in advance

um..ok...I'm pretty sure this is how you do it.First, go download the full install for whatever mod you want to play...say for FA go download the full 2.7 version of FA. Then install that into C:\games\Half-Life\steam\SteamApps\*my_email_name*\then after that:Go into your old Sierra/Halflife/ folder where all the mod folders are. Now simply right click on the mod folder of ur choice, click 'cut' then go over to C:\games\Half-Life\steam\SteamApps\*my_email_name*\ (or where ever your steam folder is) and right click somewhere. Click paste. Something should pop up, and it should let you click something like 'Yes' 'Yes to all' 'No' and 'Cancel'. Click 'Yes to all' and it will overwrite the folder. Then you should be able to play it on Steamhope that helps, if you still have problems come back and respond

tried it with Existence,.. didn't work.. is there a way to install CS without Steam?

do you have t use steam eveytime to play? becuase lately i cant get into servers

yeah, it buggs the hell out of me, i think i',m gonna reinstall and not install CS, unless there's a way to install it without Steam

Well so far iv been having problems with steam too. i install it like you but i can play and all just i can't see any servers in ns vs and Fa... iv heard that they are trying to fix the bugs. dont worry about the third party games cause they will be fixed soon. and all cs 1.5 or wat evere is soon to be gone and all servers wll switch to steam so keep that steam installer. and remember your password for steam
