The default 0.3 means that 30% of a player's body has to be seen by the helo before it can start to damage that player. Bumping it to .85 or higher, might mean a less effective chopper - but a much happier playing environment. Why does this work? After all, aren't the helo's a requirement to be a Ranked Server? It seems that IW may have cheat-protected the DVARS that let you switch them OFF/ON, but they forgot about protecting the ClipSize and Health. So the helo will spawn, attempt to attack - but it doesn't fire. IW never intended for them to be turned off due to the fact that certain Challenges require them. They have to continue showing up for this reason. I often hear a lot of people on the server complaining (whining?) about the helicopter and airstrikes. This is a solution for those people -- and the server stays ranked!

Get the 2-3 people on your team that are NOT using M4s, P90s, and DEagles to use MGs and RPGs to bring it down fast...There are enough RPD clowns out there that can shoot it down with their DTap and Grip (then when they die they can use their DEagle)... -...nevermind... :thumbsup:--Nerf it to hell for the incompetent among us...we do cadre to the masses, like any good server should, and I keep forgetting the masses are morons...there are other servers for me...
February 11, 200817 yr I didn't plan on nerfing it, part of the game is learning how to work together to accomplish a task. I do like the option to set it so more of the body has to be visible for it to attack you though.

I don't like the idea of being able to, for example, shoot it down with one shot from a pistole. But to make it less wall-hacky, it might be worth it!
February 11, 200817 yr -Less "wall-hacky" seems better...but the post seemed to focus on making it not shoot at all...THAT was the part that got to me... ...I just figured, now that we have the spawn time so low that death is no longer a game factor, maybe we where going to further endulge the meat-heads and remove anything interesting that could ruin their kill-streaks... -Apollogies for the misunderstanding.
