Crysis settings

Featured Replies

Well I decided to pick back up on Crysis where i left off. This game is awesome especially the ending. Can't wait for the 2nd part. That final boss put the hurt on my computer i had my CPU averaging 80-90 and my ram 75% or more. Even dropping the setting to low did not help. This game is extremely demanding. If you want to play the game decently you need at least a quad core. The final level there are just so many things going on that overwhelms the cpu. What were your settings for the game? Mine were at medium then dropped down to low for the final boss.

You weren't runnin DX10 though since you don't have Vista that is probably why you got away with it. XP is only DX9.0c

You can config hack Crysis to make it run on supposedly "DX10 only" very high settings in XP. From the pepsi challenge tests it looks and runs basically the same. I ran the game entirely on very high in XP and it ran ok, but it tanked a bit in the alien spaceship.

You have to make sure AA is off, that will kill your computer more than anything else.

well since I have DX10 I have to run it at med but i can run it at high i just lags a little.

Just for fun i cranked everything to the max including the 16xAAQ. Only an average of 10fps but it was beautiful.

I just got the game this past week with my 8800GTX. It looks GREAT! I am running XP but I heard you could find a fix to get DX10 working on XP. I havent really looked...does anyone know if this is true?

I will try it after I get home from work later today. I am going to set a restore point JUST in case. The picture looks good...I have seen that listed as an example before. I got the 8800GTX card and I really do not want to go to vista......

BTW I didnt have time to loo very close but how does this install? I didnt see and exe or setup. I assume you drop it in a Win folder? It looks like a bunch of python scripts ect....
