March 1, 200818 yr Postal worker warns of Sioux City fire 5:22 PM SIOUX CITY -- Firefighters say an alert postal worker warned two people of smoke coming out of their Myers Street home, allowing both to escape to safety. According to a statement from the Sioux City Fire Department, firefighters were called at 2:30 p.m. today to a report of fire at 3308 Myers St., owned by Donald and Shirley Holt. Responders saw slight smoke coming out of the two-story house's roof and traced it to a fire in the attic. The fire was extinguished and the structure suffered minor damage, according to the statement. Firefighters blame an electrical malfunction for igniting attic insulation and causing the fire. -- Molly Montag This is my grandma's house. My brother, who is a firefighter, responded to the fire. Him and the other firefighters are fighting the fire and there is my grandma standing amongst them. He told her "grandma it's not safe you need to get out" and she did. Then five minutes later there she is again, in the smoke filled dining room with the firefighters fighting the fire. Another firefighter nudges my brother and says, "dude your grandma is in here again." My brother tells her, "Grandma it's not safe. You need to get the hell out of here now! Go into the garage or get in your car and turn on the car to stay warm, but get out of here now!" Grandma responds "You puke!" and goes outside to berate other firefighters. Later on, another firefighter comes up to my brother and says, "man your grandma has a mouth on her. She told me that any mess we make she wants us to clean up and she was swearing alot!" Meanwhile, inside my brother takes an axe to the ceiling to let the water out of the attic. Nice! Take that grandma! True story occurred about a few weeks ago.
March 1, 200818 yr I bet the grandma repaired the house by herself allready and it looks like new by now, and now she's by the fireplace watching her favourite TV show with her cat at her feet. That would be my grandma with her high energy being, the way i remember her.
