March 11, 200817 yr Yeah PG is the only way to go or you are sure to get stuff like that from your ISP. http://phoenixlabs.org/pg2/
March 11, 200817 yr That sucks, and i thought comcast was bad. I was seeding all last week at home and never got an e-mail.
March 11, 200817 yr thanks for removing that...I thought i got it all. It was a movie, and I wasn't using Peer Guardian, just BitTorrent. you NEED to be using peer guardian man what did your parents teach you thats like having sex without a condom just be happy that these are usually just warnings and nothing will follow this email. I would strongly recommend asking on the peer guardian forums this is the first ive seen where they ask for a reply dont reply back if you havent yet http://forums.phoenixlabs.org/forumdisplay.php?f=38 http://wiki.phoenixlabs.org/wiki/BayTSP_Infringement_Link
March 11, 200817 yr the reason u got the email is cuz the bittorrent was sharing files of some kind i got the same thing from my isp cuz of a file being shared through limewire.
March 11, 200817 yr That's the point of p2p, you can try to disable your uploads but it will greatly effect your download speeds.
March 11, 200817 yr yes but i turn sharing off. so your a leecher you make everyone else risk their neck so you can get stuff for free?
March 11, 200817 yr You can't really do that with Bit Torrent, its not designed to allow leeching and work very well.
March 11, 200817 yr You can't really do that with Bit Torrent, its not designed to allow leeching and work very well. sure drop your upload speed and delete once the torrent is done ive had my upload as low as 5k and dled at over 11mbps
March 11, 200817 yr sure drop your upload speed and delete once the torrent is done ive had my upload as low as 5k and dled at over 11mbps I've never been able to pull that off, but then again I have Comcrap and they hose P2P with their illegal packet forging technique.
March 11, 200817 yr I've never been able to pull that off, but then again I have Comcrap and they hose P2P with their illegal packet forging technique. you should never pull that off because your morales inside stop you from doing something so bad
March 11, 200817 yr My money's on Hostel 2. For that, you deserve a Cease and Desist! Look, I got three of those (while on comcast) and nothing ever came of it. Play smarter from now on and you'll be alright. Lionsgate already has you, what's done is done. Don't fret over it. Lionsgate (LG) has to contact Cox for your information. Cox can either give them your info or simply declare that they'll take care of it themselves. The line in your email about "terminating within 24 hours if it's not removed" (paraphrase) makes me think they told LG they'd "take care of it". Additionally, by my research, Cox is one of the less evil providers, and probably have stopped LG from persuing any farther. For now, don't worry about it. Just take precautions in the future. Also, quit stealing stuff.
March 11, 200817 yr I have Cox Communications and I have been downloading and seeding torrents (fansub anime) and I haven't got any letters/e-mails like that.
March 11, 200817 yr Why do you guys still bother with p2p stuff? I get movies, soundtracks, software, all for free, the only thing comcast can get me on is bandwidth usage and I monitor that 24/7. I never let it get above 25 gigs a month, which has come close occasionally.
March 11, 200817 yr so your a leecher you make everyone else risk their neck so you can get stuff for free? yep but that was the reason they came up with p2p is so ppl could share stuff for free.
March 11, 200817 yr yep but that was the reason they came up with p2p is so ppl could share stuff for free. yes and it depends on people sharing not leeching thats while its called file sharing and not file leeching Leecher:mad:
March 11, 200817 yr I received this same letter ~4 years ago. I replied, and I haven't used P2P stuff since. I buy my stuff or use stuff that I have that's >4 years old. Vista won't do CS9. Why are we even talking about this?? We've shut threads like this down before!?!? Any way piracy is cute but bad bad bad, bad boy piracy! Someone needs to delete this, who has the cajones?
March 11, 200817 yr why was this thread locked it was a flowing descussion and a rather tame one at that
