"The CD Key Is Already In Use"

Featured Replies

...is the message i keep getting when trying to log into BF2142.

Any suggestions as to what the problem is?

I have tried logging in using all the username / password combo's possible. (after entering my email address then usernames into the "Retreive Details" menu).

It's now starting to really piss me off. Could it be a problem with the patch? As far as i am aware, patch 1.40 is the latest right?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If what Shotty said is true, then pickup the game again. I was at Bestbuy yesterday and they had BF2 for $9.99. Not bad if I say so myself.
I kind of had the same thing it was saying that my Cd key was invalid for BF2, i just reinstalled my BF2 & BF2SF and saved the profiles and then installed it.
I would try a re-install first, I don't see how someone could get your key unless you got a virus or something. If it still doesn't work register your game with EA and they'll give you a new key hopefully.

Try W0lfZ3ro & Anibis tip else, if don't run good:

Do you have registered your game(s) and key(s) to EA website?

If yes, send a mail to EA with a copy of your bill and the copy of your key on the back of your booklet:

if right, you will receive a new cd-key from EA and the old key will be permanently banned by EA on all servers around the world...

Egidio.

Also if you haven't rebooted since this happened check task manager to see if it's still running in the background, sometimes programs don't shut all the way down.
