from what i've been reading this is just the beginning,according to many sources(which i don't have time to find for you all) the sun is suppose to be undergoing a huge change some sort of super sunstorm,that's kinda like a clean out cycle.And it will be tossing plenty of sunspot and radiation towards the earth and even switch polarity.i guess well see.

Yup they are actually talking about that this is the beginning of Solar Cycle 24. Also the with the current storm the earth's magnetic field is now a 6 south. So you should be able to see auroras pretty far south to around VA if i'm correct. Of course any of this information is only good for about 15min then it changes as new data comes in.
