Certainly old news, and the good news is that there really isn't a humongous threat (that is to say, the losses are overhyped). It's more typical fear-mongering humbug.

I believe we figured out what caused it.

 

Something about a disease that's found in almost bee colonies that is normally combated by their immune systems.

 

Pesticides and other agents weaken their immune systems to the point where the disease "wins". The infected bees know they are sick and fly away to avoid spreading the disease.

 

Worst case scenario isn't that bad, really. The disease dies as the bees do. At worst crops would struggle for a few years before the population shoots back up.

Was the news story taken from the BEE MOVIE storyline? I can't bee-lieve (haha) they made an entire anim movie out of this. Very shallow storyline. Kids liked it though....of course.

I had bees in my garage and trying to get in side my house for no reason...I looked out the window and saw like 30 or so just buzzing the front door ..it was weird.

I got the water hose and chased most of em off and went in side they hung around for hours next day poof not a 1 any where :cool:
