June 20, 200817 yr I have a question. What is the first car model/make that you ever drove by yourself with no parent or driving instructor? The first car I ever drove was a 1972 Datsun (now Nissan) truck. My dad taught me how to drive in it. The first car with an instructor where I actually had a licence was a 1980 AMC Eagle. What an awesome car, AWD station wagon way ahead of it's time. Our truck was light blue and didn't have the nice wheels and was a 4 speed stick. The Eagle I was instructed in was light blue and grey. If i saw one today I would buy it right away. Now, you gotta remember this was 28 years ago so don't be too hard on my vehicles. LOL. I also drove a Plymouth Volare for a while. Imagine that. Only a few of you here will know about that piece of crap LOL. here's the commercial from back in the day.

June 20, 200817 yr My first car was a 1978 Ford Thunderbird with the 351 Windsor and Power everything. Was a tank. When you stopped at the gas stations, you checked the gas and filled up the oil... Looked liked the attached pics, except mine was black with red and silver rims like the ones in that pic.. June 20, 200817 yr Well I guess I can laugh about it now....but my first hooptie was my grandfather's 198(sumthing) Chevy Caprice wagon in a loud Sky Blue color. Needless to say, I rode very "low" in the seat. The irony is that now, 17 years later, I'm once again driving 85 El Camino. Feels like home. /monthly_06_2011/post-891-130810226826_thumb.jpg
