... should i get I'm not sure which one to get I've been looking at Sony Vegas but not sure which one to get and i don't want to spend too much like 500$ i think around 100$ or less is okay so it would be nice for some ideas thanks.
Pinnacle makes some pretty good video editing software you can see here, I only have experience with adobe premiere but it's well out of that price range.

I used Sony Vegas Video when makin films for my clan in RTCW very easy to use and import vid also. Great effects and sound mixing capability

which one did u use on Sony which software
what will you be using the program for? just making vids for games n stuff? or stuff more professional?

well for now download a couple of trial versions and try them out to see what you like best. i hear adobe premiere is really good, but it's a little more advanced/complicated..

i just use windows movie maker.. but with my old PC it was buggy as hell and crashed a shiteload - so use with caution. it's real easy to use, though.

Adobe Premier Elements is within the price range of Pinnacle but is really tedious to use. I prefer Pinnacle. It is very user friendly. I used to have a video and photo business that was founded from a simple version of Pinnacle Studio. Business lasted for 4-5 years.

im just wondering what would be best for youtube and home videos because i like to make action movies with my friends as some of yall might have seen so is pinnacle still the best and which version should i get if i get one because every time i see a editing program there are at least 3 differnt versions and i need to know which is best for what i need to use it for.

adobe premier is exactly what the price suggests, a professional (read semi-professional) movie editing suite and so like photoshop comes with all the bells and whistles to make your movie look and sound great..

you do have to be somewhat of an "expert" to get the best out of it, otherwise its simply a waste of time, and you might get better quality (for the stuff you are doing) out of somethng like sony vegas, or other movie editing suite available from your local circuit city (mass consumer - easy to use off the shelf software)

On a side note, i used WMM in the past and it works really well, never had a problem since they upgraded the standard package to windows movie maker 2 as the core release.

yeah i still suggest to use WMM for what you will be planning to do. i think the problem with my crashing and whatnot was just due to my computer.. but yeah, just try it out and see if ya likey. i don't think you should be paying anything for amateur video-making.

Go with Pinnacle Studio Ulitimate (Top Tier). If you go with anything less, you'll be ripped off by the ONE feature in the lower versions that you didn't get but really wanted. I think it goes for around $120 but is worth it. It even comes with a ChromaKey backdrop (green screen) so you can truly explore your creativity and make cooler action scenes.
