For anyone interested (yes I know some of you are not) has been released. It was actually news late this past week but I havnet got around to posting it.

 

It looks like it may go to open beta for people that have preordered on or around the 15th (this week). The full release is slated for Sept. 18.

 

Merc if you have not preordered go by and drop the $5 and get the code so that you can get in Friday.

The Open Beta will be level capped and content restricted. You will be allowed to choose any of the game's 20 unique careers and advance through rank 20. You will also be free to explore and battle across Tiers 1 and 2 of each army's homeland. Please note that any characters created during the Open Beta will NOT carry over into the live game as they will be wiped from the servers.

 

To register for Open Beta:

 

After August 15, 2008 visit the Mythic Entertainment Account Management website.

 

Create a new Warhammer Online game account.

 

When prompted, enter your Open Beta code.*

 

Your Open Beta code can be found on the card in your pre-order box or in your pre-order confirmation email. Open Beta files will be available for download on August 15th. PLEASE NOTE: The start date for Open Beta is still to be determined. Check back here for updates!

Only problem is that I ordered before the offer. EA support has promised me a key....

 

My buddy's in the beta right now and likes the game a lot.

Wife preordered, but I'm not holding my breath. While I loved Mythic's work in Dark Age of Camelot, I despise EA. So I'm gonna see how the game plays for her before I lay any money down for myself. Enjoying the challenge of Eve:Online right now anyway.

Dont get me wrong, this game is going to be phenominal..

 

however, it does not have the "pick up and play" factor that WoW shares with alot of the FPS genre, you get too bogged down into tweaking the stats and i think it will go the same way DAOC did, the hardcore who do have the time to sit and tweak and tweak and set up characters perfectly will excell, and walk over the people who dont, and they will then leave..

 

i want this game i really do, but i will see how well it does..

I have played the beta and let me tell you it is a pretty damn good game. As shotty said it does not have the pick up and play factor wow had, but it does not take that long to figure out either. I just started today...

also it was just announced that the NDA will be dropped tomorrow.

I am playing this weekend during the "preview weekend". I think it is actually pretty good. After posting this I am actually going to deactivate my wow account.

I preordered and am in game now too! What server/side are you guys on? It really sucks that there's no in-game voice chat, it helped a lot in lotro, even in PUGs.

I am on Barrak Varr or something like that.

I made a Ventrilo channel for Warhammer. I also am on the Kraka Drak server with a my buddy Snowdog. I'm Mercury in the game and he's Franz or Snowdog depending on the character he's using. Hook up with us if possible.

I've got a Magus - level 8 sporting one of the ugliest side-kick daemons.

BTW...to all the people that said this game was going to suck. You may want to actually try it...

I haven't played WOW hardly at all but I did log a lot of hours on Everquest. It's much better than Everquest (GUI, Graphics, Quests, Landscape, Bling) - the public quests are cool and the R vs. R is really cool. So far its been fun to be able to always choose what you'd like to do.
