September 24, 200817 yr I as some or most of us, can be free on weekends, working 4-12 mon-fri. With enough advance consideration for us all, we might get decent comitment for turnout. So I propose in poll, attached, who is interested in doing FA1 in coming week or two or three ? Complication is ... I seem to recall from not too distant attempt, that even the old FA1, 3.0, as Klink pointed out, needs Steam software installed and registered for free, to run and access FA servers online that are even free... unlike yrs ago ... However, anyone got more to add here ? I suspect, it's possible, atleast with permission from FA owner, or not, to run our own server for it for few days only ... We may just need private SC or Admin advertised IP of someone privately able to offer it with their fast pc ... Anyway, I gotta go sleep soon, so any further ideas and changes to my poll are welcome ... Best I could offer at this time is a 2.4 dual core Intel on extreme high speed shaw internet equal to maybe as high as 200/kbs... All suggestions and correcions are welcome. :thumbsup: I have always saluted the original creators of FA ... I hope we can maybe find way for legal permission from someone appropriate to try it on our own if not thru STEAM, seems worhtwhile to them as if it stirs up enough enjoyment, the old attraction is back to make them money ... Using that old half life 1 engine, FA1 had mega flexibility ... almost anyone could try their own maps ... custom sprays could be added to spray on walls, like of "TigerHawk" , yest, I did, she knew, few knew though ... they were fun much laughing times for her and me and Gator and the rest of us around at the time ... custom audio ability too ... like "you can't touch this ... " added salt to wounds for a laugh ... Games were so much fun then, with many customizations available ... Now, there is greed and lack of sharing freely, but the right to share freely is not lost yet ... lets all speak out on this please and thankyou. if i miss a poll vote, please feel free to add to mine or add your own ... THIS FA ISSUE IS IMPORTANT TO ME, it's why i am life committed to TAC ... I paying legitimately for 3 pcs = 3 ips = $60/3 ips @ up to 200/kbps speed... It's been good. Can't complain. Downloads are very fast with the boost that Shaw gives. Sincerely, Hoooogan ;-)

I'm not sure it's as complicated as you make it sound to run f-a.You don't need to ask permission.Just gotta have a steam account/half-life1 and then the f-a files/server files.Then a server to play it on.I'm not sure it's possible for us to use our server for this.We'd more then likely just have to use one that's already still running(if there are any) I have nothing against playing some f-a,however i borrowed out my HL1 disk years ago,not sure if i even know where it is anymore.And no way will i pay more money for another one just to play a game 1 more time. But you may beable to convince others to join you for a game or two. best of luck hogan,i can see how important this is to you,seeing how you make a post like this every couple months :thumbsup: On a side note klink and tigerhawk are and always have been welcomed here they left on their own,and may return if they ask.I see no reason to continue bringing it up in general forum topics.
September 24, 200817 yr I can't seem to find my disks so, my answer has to be no. sigh.... I used to love playing FA. Those days I'm afraid are gone. Hopefully we get a new game to come out that will bring everyone back together. :thumbsup:

October 30, 200817 yr Past donator is fine with me and I didn't even notice it to tell you the truth. I, also, have great memories of FA but maybe these are best kept memories? The best part was all players playing the SAME game not stretched out all over every game made. I love TA still and will always be around. :thumbsup: :thumbsup:
March 16, 200916 yr Author Okay all. I challenge you to remember the easy fast action of FA1 maps. Not mentioning FA2 here as it seems a taboo subject. We were rulers so to speak for a while of the game. Just because it's old, like Tetris, Space Invaders, Pong, etc, ... should not mean in my opinion, it's not worth retrying once in a while. We have offer to play in match leaque... Lets appreciate that. I've yet to figure out how to find any FA1 server... I can create my own ... that's about it ... March 17, 200916 yr Author I got it working online thru steam, after updating to 3.0 FA1. Found few servers open to public. Got tired and late and had to crash. I'll be looking back at this soon. Have other business now to do first like tax filing thru net. See ya soon, Hogan.
