Starcraft II trilogy?

Apparently, Blizzard got over zealous with the story line and they gave the Blizzcon audience a decision. It was decided that they will release the campaign separately because it is so big.

Hopefully, they wound increase the price tooo much for the zerg and protoss campaigns. Really they shouldn't increase it at all, but they will sell it either way.

I was pretty pissed when I heard this, I really don't have any interest in paying $150+ for SC2. I think they said each installment would have a "full" campaign so they can charge full prices for each one. I really hope they don't though. I'm still going to buy them regardless but hopefully Blizzard can make good of this.

Yeah, my problems is that I will buy them all no matter what they do. But it really isn't the consumers fault that they made too much. They should just give you all of it, not sure why that wasn't an option.

The other 2 wont be full price. At least I very highly doubt that they will be. They may be $20 each or something, which is still more than just 1 game, but if you read it, they said there is going to be about 4 times as much single player content as SC1. Thats a lot.

So this way they get the game out earlier, have time to fully develop all parts of all of the campaigns, AND they make more profit.

So, for the consumer its a win because they get a game that isn't rushed, and has a lot of content. Its a loss because it costs more.

I think that pretty much balances out :D

I just hope that it won't screw up the multiplayer aspect. Unless I'm misunderstanding this you will need to buy the expansion packs in order to keep playing online because it will add new content for online play. So their could be servers with only original content, and then servers each step of the way after a new expansion pack is released.

:peace: -This will likely happen more and more now (NewGameX and NewGameX 'Multiplayer online'.)

:D -Games are getting HUGELY complicated and do not cadre well to the obsessive player that beats the campaign in one night. More content is better (and going to cost). A fixed price for one game does cap what companies are willing to devote to games.

:D -All in all, this is not the worst idea. Games, as of late, have poor single-player in favor of the online content. If you only wish to play online, just buy one...if you want to run the campaign (once or twice), get it and you can pass it on to friends when you are done.

All you have to get to play online is the Terran one. So people not interested in the story don't have to buy all three.
That's good then, I was confused from the initial reports. They were saying they were adding new multiplayer content with each expansion.
well nothing was said on the blizzcon website or the blizzard site.
It was detailed on the blizzcon site. It also mentioned they were given a key for the SC2 beta.
