I can not get steam to work on my computer. My friend has it installed on his and it works fine. He can not figure out what is wrong with my computer. My brother who knows alot about computer stuff can not figure it out either. I am 100% sure i follwed the installation correctly. We tried messing with bios, new drivers, and god knows what else. i read forums for solutions but they are things that i have already tried. I can play on WON servers without errors...Today i joined THE ARMORY but it soon crashed...and my comp freezes up, when i run scandisk i got a list of errors involving steam about 50 lines long.I have totally uninstalled HALFLIFE and all its components and then reinstalled it. I have freshly installed FA and STEAM as well. Nothing works... I think there might be an incompatibility issue somewhere because sometimes i got a C++ runtime error, the solutions i found to fix this said install new drivers and i did but...I really need some ideas on how to fix the problem any help would be much appreciated.Hope to be on The ARMORY soon!Thanks, PUNISHER

if you're running windows, do thisgo to control panelclick add/remove programsuninstall steam... if it's not in that list, just delete the steam folder manuallyafter you do thatgo to start, click runtype regedit and press enterin the left pane, click hkey_current_userscroll down to software; click itscroll down to valve, click itdelete the steam folderthen try to reinstall...
