May 21, 201115 yr Just in from EA's Battlefield Blog Highlights of the Week, May 20 There’s plenty to talk about in this past week in the world of Battlefield, filling the days with great information both old and new on the Battlefield series! We go back to Karkand once more, take a look back on the history of one of the most famous maps in Battlefield, and loads of great fan-submitted videos, making for one solid Battlefield Highlights of the Week. We took a deeper look at the Back to Karkand maps coming in Battlefield 3, chatting with Lead Designer Niklas Fegraeus about his influences and a few of the aspects involved in the creative process of game creation. In the discussion, Fegraeus talks about the Wake Island map and some of the reasons why the favorite map earned a special place in his heart. http://blogs.battlefield.ea.com/resized-image.ashx/__size/550x0/__key/CommunityServer.Blogs.Components.WeblogFiles/battlefield_5F00_bad_5F00_company/B2K_5F00_Wake_5F00_Island_5F00_Concept_5F00_550.jpg “Never having played anything like Battlefield before, my squad of Counter-Strikers ran along on the ground on Wake Island while the other team dive-bombed us with Zero fighters,” says Fegraeus about his first experience with Battlefield. “I was like ‘IMBA! What’s the fun in this?’ Pretty soon, though, I realized this was something completely new and different, and that it was in fact an awesome game.” It’s a great interview and well worth a read.
