Posted August 12, 201113 yr It’s been another great week for Battlefield, filled with some features, new information, and even some quirkier stories from around the web, so let’s get started in this brand new installment of Battlefield Highlights of the Week! (Please visit the site to view this media) We kicked things off this week by showing a quick glimpse of what We’ll be bringing to Germany when we head off to GamesCom next week. We’re pulling out all the stops to make sure Battlefield 3 has a great showing at the convention, and to add a little razzle dazzle, we’re bringing out one of the most requested elements of the game: Jets. That’s right, we’re setting up a MiG-21 jet (as seen in the video above) as part of the booth. Just the tip of the iceberg… We continued the week with a brand new installment of the Battlefield 3 Battleblog, this time focusing on the foundations of Battlefield gameplay. We sat down with Senior Designer Alan Kertz to talk about some of the fine points found in the Battlefield gameplay, and it makes for one of the best installments to the Battleblog yet. In it, we discuss weapon handling, authenticity, and variety in the gameplay, making it something that you simply can’t miss. Want to catch up? Read the entire post right here. To help all of our lovely fans prepare for Battlefield 3, we’ve started a new feature called Battlefield Boot Camp, and though the examples seen are from Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 2, the tactics are universal, and we think anyone could benefit from a few friendly pro-tips. This week we focused on squad tactics worth keeping in mind – everything from communication and squad balanced are covered, making for a great way to help out your skills on the Battlefield. This tournament will be taking place daily during PAX Prime 2011 (August 26 – August 28), where fans can win prizes, while mowing down the competition in Battlefield 3. Care to join the fun? Not only does it showcase some of the various strategies seen around the world, it’s plain ol’ fascinating to see various takes on practical military garb. As a matter of fact, we can’t help but notice a few similarities between some outfits from BFBC2 and the French FELIN suit (pictured above). Click here to read the full story on Wired.com.
