Has anyone downloaded this mod yet? What's it like?

i went to the website and looked around for quiet a while yesterday, and it looks amazing. they wanted a rainbow six style of a mod on the half life engine i guess. tell me how it is once you download it.

I heard about it from [$aC]Nemmisis. Because most of Sac went to DoD, he said try playing Hostil Intent. He showed me that same link, that underwantedhero posted. In the site are some pictures. They are amazing. I cant believe how Half Life support those graphics. But I also hear that it so realistic, that it lags to much. It looks like a CounterStrike Mod in a way, but with different weapons. I never tryed it tho. Im sticking with FA until HL2. BTW, I recently just got Call of Duty for PC. It's Awsome!!!!!!! The graphics, and gameplay are so cool. Best WWII Game out there. But you must buy it, because theyre is a needed CD Key on the CD in the Case, and you can't play online with others without it.(Keygen's and Cracks wont help).-Venom

I got CoD too a couple of weeks ago.Very amazing game, too bad I can only play cracked servers but a friend helped me with a few good servers.

SUCKS MAJOR BUMBUM! The reload animations suck, you move like your walking, can only fire with iron sites. IT JUST OVERALL SUCKS

You can zoom in firemode, by secoudary fire with some guns. If you just stay defualt you have a crosshair. The iron site makes it more realistic, and accuarte, but you can not move, and turn as quickly.

I had the Cracked Version, in which I could only play Singleplayer, and then I got the game for Christmas. /me feals mad that others cracked it for multiplayer.:? Anyway, I like the game.

I just played Hostile Intent, and you know what, I'm glad I've lived this long.

 

I never thought I'd see an actual slow-paced HL mod. This mod is, I believe, the first to achieve that.

 

Sure, other mods say "realistic" and "true to life" but they all boil down to finding the best weapon and strafing around your enemy. This mod actully needs tactics to get anywhere.

 

For example, in the jungle maps, you can't lone gun it alone, or else you'll get capped in the back of a head by a guy lying prone in a bush who you would not have seen unless you were standing on top of him.

 

This mod is easily my second most favorite mod (second only to Firearms).

 

Probaly the only complaints I can put against it are:

 

1.a tad bit more weapons would be nice (especially pistols)

 

2.fix the walking animations, they do suck

 

and 3.some player models are really weird looking, they just need a bit of a touch up.

 

I really really like this mod and I recommand it to most players.

 

but a harsh warning!:

 

If you're one of those players that is constantly whining "Where was he?" or "WTF? How did I die!!!" this mod is not for you. This mod has exactly 0 hud. Nothing, just your gun. So when you see the damage indicator flash, then you're probaly dead. And you'll be scratching your head thinking "was he hacking or hiding in those bushs?"

 

But if you can get by this whole "Don't show who killed who, don't show ammo count, don't show life" thing...then you'll enjoy it

Half-Life Steam\Hostile Intent

 

Mutex: HLSGAME

 

Icon: $BASE\hostileintent\hostileintent.ico

 

2 if gamedir ~!= "hostileintent" remove

 

I placed this in my ASE filter.txt in between AHL & FLF. You can do that if you wish or you can dl the entire filter doc if messing with stuff is too scary for you.

 

A cpl of things important to remember...

 

1. make a backup of your original ASE filter

 

2. make a backup of you new filter or at least backup the tiny bit of filter code I have written.

 

3. turn off ASE automatic updates as this will overwrite any customisation

 

4. play HI

I sure would like to see more TA peeps playing HI. HI needs ppl to set a good example. Right now its expirencing a influx of players from CS. Not a bad thing in and of itself however these CS players bring thier bad attitudes with them.
