EA: We will continue to support Battlefield 4

Featured Replies

The publisher promises continued support, but didn't reveal any specifics.

It’s been a good two and a half years since Battlefield 4 was released, and in that time, it’s been supported well by its developers. After a horrendous launch in 2013, EA created a new studio, DICE LA, to specifically focus on continued support for Battlefield 4.

And it seems that the support will carry on into the near future. EA recently said on Twitter that “we will continue to support Battlefield 4”, but they did not reveal any plans for the future.

The last Battlefield 4 update was released in December, and since then, there has been no news about any future updates or content.

That’s not to say that there haven’t been smaller updates: we got a small update to Battlelog in January and a Battlefield 4 server update in February with an improved anti-cheat system.

And the community events are still ongoing — the new events for March were just unveiled.

We’ll have to wait and see what’s in store for BF4 in the future. Hopefully it includes another patch and perhaps a new map or some other content. At least something until we get the next game in the series, rumored to be Battlefield 2143.

Last month, DICE LA themselves said that they are still working on BF4 and have not moved on to other projects.
