BATTLEFIELD 1 EMERGENCY UPDATE NOTES 02262018

Featured Replies

After the release of Battlefield 1 Apocalypse, some players started experiencing a momentary dip in performance when making progress toward the various awards in the game. The latest addition of new assignments and rewards was the straw that broke the camel’s back, causing strain on the system and exposing the problem.

We’ve reduced the demand on the rewards system by making changes to the new Service Assignments. You will no longer need to complete 5 of the Staying Focused Assignments to begin working towards Assignments in the Climbing The Ranks category. To keep the same level of difficulty, the Service Assignments that unlock Afflictions have been moved underneath some of the Climbing The Ranks Assignments, serving as a soft gate before gaining access to the Afflictions.

Please note, any progress made on the Affliction Assignments will not be lost, and you will still have any Afflictions you have already unlocked.

FIXED

  • Fixed an issue where players were experiencing a momentary dip in performance whenever earning points in a match.
  • Fixed an issue where the Hellriegel 1915 Factory was missing sights.
  • Fixed an issue where the Hellriegel 1915 Defensive was missing the optical sight

Thank you for your patience as we worked to resolve these issues and we’ll see you on the battlefield!

The Teams at EA/DICE

This is just getting ridiculous with the low level of gabage EA/DICE is putting out now. An emergency patch for the patch? Really?

This could have all been preventable if they talked with the community test environment (CTE) first. This is why everyone gave up on CTE. They just want to put of garbage and get our money. CTE is defunct now from what I hear anyways. I gave up on them not long after it started. Fucking unlimited ammo for a server update, really?

Well anyways, I probably won't be supporting anything EA anymore. I am adding them to my ban list with activision and valve. 3 companies I will not give money to.

Right now, I do not think it is feasible for DICE to put out a good game with admin controlled 3rd party servers until probably 2021 at the earliest.

Everyone, we need to find us a good AAA title that supports our group. It needs to have 3rd party servers and admins. It needs to host 32 to 64 players. It has to be fun to play. It does not need to have pay to win crates. It needs to be customizable to.

If anyone hears of anything, let us know.

A MODERN ENGINE - Developed for Unreal Engine 4

My only fear for Hell Let Loose is that it's on the Unreal Engine. As a matter of fact the only Unreal Based game I have played in a long time without serious netcode issues has been Fortnite. I give that over to the simplified graphics and that well the owners of the engine produce that game so it better damned well have good netcode. I would hope that they also include some sort of ping limiter in the game as the reason i quit playing PUBG was all the damned high ping players from Asia / EU countries. (Its not that those guys suck fellows. Playing on those servers you are the high ping player and you have the advantage there just as they have on the NA servers) I also didn't see anything about HLL having private servers so that is a tad troublesome as well but live able as long as the netcode performs. Will keep my eye on it as well though.

The one thing DICE/EA did that I liked was putting the ping limiter in even though they overdid it initially cause, yeah researching is hard and whatnot, they quickly got it nailed down to a reasonable limit. DICE/EA screwed the pooch on so many levels with BF1 from the lack of concurrent design in the servers to support features that were evident, the attempt to unify codebases leading to a LOT of problems, and alienating the long standing fan base. Add to this the debacle that was and is SWBG2 and honestly I have to wonder why there aren't a hell of a lot of folks looking for jobs. I mean the company I work for is just shy of 3/4 of a billion dollar a year company and if I showed a quarter of the cluelessness/ineptitude some of these guys have shown it would most definitely be a resume generating event.

What with all these issues I won't say I will not play an EA/DICE game but I will definitely not be placing a preorder till I see if it fits the bill which is sad as I have eagerly pre ordered every BF title after BF2 along with the Premium. I also know a HUGE portion of their client base are planning the same. Hell my old clan didn't even make the move to BF1 after the beta which is a small part of why you crotchety old farts are stuck with me now. lol I am cautiously looking at the new BF but am not holding my breath on it especially with EA/DICE's lack of movement on the server side of things, and their backtracking on the ammo 2.0 initiative. with some tweaks it could have been an amazing update to the game and actually required medics and support players to play their role. instead they tried to go the easy route with the magically appearing nades etc and it bit them in the ass.

When oh when is there gonna be a company the actively engages their existing fan base, identifies people who can provide logically thought out arguments, and actually listen to them? They are usually the people who play the games and kind of know what the majority of the player base wants.

Oh Yeah. I actually forgot about that game. How is it?

I would like to see a game made on an engine based off of this decade but supply is limited.

There are a lot of games based on the Unreal Engine. Problem is the only group to optimise a game on that engine with any success is Epic and im guessing that is because they have access to levels of code others dont and know how to tweak it.
