Posted February 5, 200421 yr Well I am going to try to for the second (or third?) time going totry to or think about starting a mod but this time with the BF1942 engine and I am havinga hard time deciding which universe to base it on.Alien Vs. Predator or StarCraft?I am thinking that StarCraft may be somewhat difficult seeing as howthe Zerg isnt vehicle but rather more class based.The problem with the Alien universe is how hard is it going to be to getAliens to climb walls and stuff?The Aliens would have no vehicles and the Predators would have a couplelike a hover vehicle, dropship and the Marines would have an APC, Dropship/Attackship etc..Although BF1942 only handles 2 armys (Unless it can be modified) at a time so one race might have to be dropped either way.
February 5, 200421 yr Starcraft all the wayAliens vs Predatoes doesn't explain/show enough vehicles and weapons for it to be truely interestingDriving a siege tank or goliath would kick ass!
February 5, 200421 yr you might want to think about using a different engine.BF has limitations with player animations from wahat I understand.You might be better off with Unreal 2003 or something that will suit your desired games.

February 5, 200421 yr What about Natural Selection for HL?Ive been playing it too much lately. Last week I played it for 12 hours straight.. While it was 12am, I thought it was on 8 or 9. =o
February 5, 200421 yr Author Actually I think BF1942 would be sufficient for the Terrain and Protoss.As for the Zerg.. ugh..UT2003 (or upcoming 2004) is beyond my $$$. I can't affort $60 plus $600 to build the computer to run it at the moment.
February 6, 200421 yr Author You know.. Its such a shame they never "completed" the Red Faction II enginewith modding and multiplayer. That engine is beautiful and runs on such a slow system!Oh well.
