May 27, 20196 yr Well I love technology and I had to go to my local best buy and see an 8K television for myself. Twice the resolution of 4K right! What could make movies look better right? Well I am sad to say I was hugely disappointed at this moment. That means maybe I will be impressed in the future but not right now. The salesperson was quick to show me a Samsung 8K. Hey that is my go to brand follow quiclly by LG which is coming out soon. I stood in front of that TV for a moment while the salesperson told me a bit about what comes with the tv but did not do the usual geek squad techno bable. The big thing that I noticed was and I said this to her, standing 6 feet from the screen was it was no more impressive than a 4K. He comes the tech part. Right now, normal HDMI cables which is what everything is set to these days, DOES NOT support 8K resolution. Another thing is, right now it is upscaling to 8K. Watching a 4k video on an 8K resolution tv did not do much upscaling. HE is how you can tell. If you put your eye on a 4K tv and then put your eye on an 8K tv you will then see it is a little sharper. While this is nice, I prefer to watch tv in a nice comfy chair from more than a quarter inch from the tv. 6 to 10 feet just feels right to me. Now before you say do waste your money, I will say this. Don't waste your money right now. My reason is pretty simple. most television stations still only broadcast in 720 HD. Most 4k content is upscaled to 4K which still is not true 4K. I also believe with 8K out, that maybe 4K content will be massively increased or at least that is my hope. Until such a time, go check out one for yourself.
