Kotaku posted an article about the difficult place the gaming world is in. The thing that hit me the hardest was EA, Ubisoft and Activision dropped their release slate from 98 games in 2008 to 28 last year. That doesn't include expansions. They have also all but killed off their single player game slates (Ubisoft being a small exception). EA has only released 1 this year. This also reflects a new world where we are seeing games as a service eating up the space/resources of new games. This may leave the companies in a bad place where one major failure could take them down.

Less games and less quality in games.

 

If you did not know it, DISNEY's name is being thrown around last couple of days. Investors are suggesting that Disney buy a company like EA since they do a lot of games already for Disney such as marvel and Star Wars.
