How did you start playing FA?

Curious, we all started playing FA at one point. How did you start?I started back in a old clan called Sons of Korhal -)SoK(- [sIDENOTE= not to misinterpreted with my guild which is named after the acronym]It was a SC/BW clan we expanded into CS, And we had a huge CS squad of about 40 of our clan members. Someone in the clan if I remember his name was 'Razma' mentioned about trying out this game called Firearms RC 2.5 I thought what the hell I tried it out with him, And it was so much fun. We wanted to make a FA a -)SoK(- division. But other members didn't like it that much and stayed with CS. But I decided to continue FA. However it was just me and Razma, for about 1 week. Then he went back to CS. I stayed on FA for a bit and then I quit to join my comrades. But soon RC 2.6 came out, I decided to give it another try. I installed it, and it never was uninstalled. I lost my clan, But I played solo till 2.65, then I became a TA regular for about 6-7 months, became a member quit that. Became an Aesir.Thats a brief story how I started playing FA.How about j00?

I bought CS, atleast I admit it, and found Firearms 2.4 on the disc as well. So I installed it, played 2.4 for a while on many different servers. I stopped playing when my friends started to play CS but I came back after CS got lame. Downloaded 2.6 and then had to download 2.7 right after that becuase it just came out. Ever since then Ive been a regular here...

I started Playing half-life in march of 2000 when i got it for my birthday i played it for awhile then found out from my brother-in-law that you could dl different modifications. I tried CS, dmc, and tfc and found the gameplay to be very cool but not the weapons. Then i found firearms and loved the way you could choose weapons gameplay was just as cool if not better than the other mods. Joined a clan called {CFM} which was around June of '01 and stuck with it, till 2.6 came out alot of the guys didn't care for that release so {CFM} went to DoD I went with them but would contiually play FA on the side till It got better at the end of the 2.7 era i put in an application to TA then one day after them watching me for some time and right after the 2.8 release Statecop pm'd me (thanks again SC) asking if I'd still like to join the Armory, after jumping for joy doing backflips and having one bodacious celebration party(well it could of happened you dont know ) i said yeah I'd loved to so he and gator told me to put the tags on. And I've been smiling ever since and wore the tags proudly thanks friends and i hope this let you know a lil more bout me. Well lets see... I started to play CS at a computer cafe thingamajig. I was all into that CS stuff lol. Then it got boring. So i looked around at custom games section. I found a game called Firearms. I tried it and i got other people in the cafe to play it. That game was fun. So i decided to download the game as soon ans i had a computer to handle the dl and online gaming. So i dled it and played on many servers. Then i got banned from that Fluffy server for tking someone who was taking pot shots at me with his pistol. I didnt realize that the m82 would be so strong so i shot him in the leg and he died. So i looked for a server and The Armory showed up and ya thats the end of my stroy lol B)

I bought HL about 3 years ago and joined my friend's CS clan. I gradually got more and more sick of CS mostly because of poor player attitude and limited depth of gameplay. I found this website called www.planethalflife.com, and the first topic that was at the top of the page was an ad saying that FA 2.5 had just been released. I figured what the hey and dled it. I origionally began playing regularly on the recondo school server. Once that died I was looking for a new home to play at and found TA. I played there for about half a year, got bored and got into TS, then got back into FA after 2.7 came out. I played for another couple months, started training for henley, went to henley, came back and decided I wanted to join a clan (september). At that point I had it down to three: [TK421], [TA] and [DoL]. I put out an application to [TA] in November, and got accepted into [TA] in late December.

Well, I started playing FA at my friend's house back in 2.5, where I started using the name "Potatoe Cannon" to piss him off with its massive stupidity. Boy did I love that steyr aug, can't go wrong with 42-round clips and a scope. People always got mad at me for using it because it was a "noobie weapon", but I was a noobie, so those weapons were made specifically for me B) . So I played as well I could with a modem for a while, mostly sniping, then lost interest since if I ever saw anyone up close I was essentially a dead man because of lag. Then I got dsl and a good video card and came back in the summertime, and haven't left since. It's a great way to pass the free time .

I first HL in 2001 in the computer club at my school. Some guys were playing Firearms so FA was the first game I played (FA 2.5). I think the first server I played on was ALCOMS in Finland. There I was for the first time with FA on my comp with a dialup connection. I chose connect to the best connection found, and go figure, it was ALCOMS. I eventually found the TA server somehow and kept playing there from then on. Eventually I put in an application and I was in, so with membership in a clan, I kept playing despite having 56k. Eventually I got DSL and I was uber-excited the first time I played with no lag. Now I'm at college and still playing FA on my uber-leet 10 Mbit connection. B)

i started playing when i got CS for me b'day. i played CS then i quit in like a few months coz it was reallly boring and lame. then i moved on to Neo TFC that was very much fun but since my clan disapperared and there were no other good NeoTFC servers so i quit that then came to FA i installed the 2.6V and it was great fun. then i found the TA server and loved it and have been playing since. but now coz of Stupid STEAM i cant play.. to laggy.... well it was fun in those days.

I bought HL from a friend some time ago. Nearly passed that game. Got bored, then i installed CS, which came with it, played lot against bots. Got bored. Then i remembered that the same friend shown me a mod called FA. It was 2.5 the time he shown me, but i wasnt quite interested. After getting bored with vaping bots in CS, i decided to give it a try. So i downloaded 2.6, and started looking. I would quickly get bored too, if not for a very good server, which kept me playing.

I started to play HL as soon as i got my internet, the only mod there was was TFC, i played that fore a long time. Than i dicovered CS, the early versions, they where cool B) I my custom list games there was a game called firearms, and i decided to visit the site, sounded cool to me and i downloaded it, it must have been one of the early versions, there where even more bugs than now and only like 5 maps or so. But i liked the game and i only stoped playing becouse my PC couldn't handle it anymore(a p1 166 mhz) but i soon got a new one and i haven't stoped playing sinds, well actually i did. I have a time of playing CS and DoD (early versions again) but came back to FA in 2.4 and 2.5 was my big return thanks to my beloved clan [belgian Para's] who died 2 times (once in the beginning of 2.5 and i think somewhere in 2.7 under a new leader and new members, it used to be a Belgians only clan)

i cant exactly remember when i started playing FA... it was either right before 2.3 or right after. i had to play at my friends house because he had the good connection and a decent computer. i have played ever since

I kept hearing what a kick ass game Halflife was, and asked my system adminstrator at the printing company I worked for if he heard of it. (he was a gamer too) He said "I'll burn you a copy of mine, and go ahead and play it online, I don't like playing the game MP". I accepted the offer, of course.It CAME with a copy of TFC, and that's how I discovered the world of HL mods. I enjoyed the fact that even on a stinking Dialup, I could help my team as a Engineer if I knew what I was doing. (as most of you know, the Engineer's Defense Turret is controlled serverside, so it DOESN'T lag like I was) I got into TFC so much, I frequented a site called "Encounters With Llamas" which featured rather humourous stories about encounters with less than intellegent or stupid peaple in the game. That site told of other halflife mods, such as Action HL and CS. This made me aware they existed.Eventually I started to grow bored with TFC. The day I got my cable modem, I picked up CS when it was still Beta. I ended up loving it so much, it actually almost broke me of a really bad Everquest habit I had B)Eventually lost that connection, and didn't get back into CS until about 3 years later when I got my DSL line. I quickly got disgusted with the community (Even with a halfway decent server to play on).I found Natural Selection by complete accident one day while downloading something completely unrelated on Fileplanet. I followed an advertisement, installed it, and quickly realised it was a HL mod. This reminded me there were more mods, so I sought them out.I saw Firearms and remembered a very brief stint I had playing it when I had to replace my HL disks and picked up the HL MP Experiance Retail disk. I decided to get that, DOD, and Richochet as well.Firearms quickly won me over. I still remember using the prefab assault config to get my first kill on PS_River using the Famas on single shot. That started my search for a decent server. I ended up hopping between Tracy's Trailor Park and THE ARMORY as they seemed to be the only servers that were admin'd right in my eyes. I chose THE ARMORY as my home in the end because the skill level on TA seemed more to my liking at the time.I still like FA, it's just there are certain aspects of 2.8 that make me pull my hair out. (Aha! I have you in my crosshairs... TWITCH TWITCH TWITCH TWITCH DEAD. WTF? Why the hell do AR's beat Scoped guns at EXTREME range?). Once 2.9 comes out, I'll be playing ALOT more.I also enjoy NS and DOD. I wish there were more Richochet servers as well, because I honestly like that game too.
