This is politcal in nature, due to the fact that the war now is political ammunition for all involved in the presidential election.

before you go spouting off about I have no respect for the uniform, here's some info for you.

I served in the Air Force

My father was in the Marines fighting in the Phillipines and several other parts of the world

My grandfather was in the Army during WWII

My great great grandfather fought in WWI

I had family on both sides during the civil war

I had family on both sides during the revolutionary war

Hell read this http://wilstar.com/holidays/thankstr.htm

Scroll down to June 20, 1676 and you'll see a Rawson did that, my ancestor. My real name is Edward-Stuart Ferris Rawson, a name handed down through the centuries to every first born male son.

So before you go spouting off that I'm unAmerican, that I'm unpatriotic, remember all that I've said. I don't care what you think, I'm more American that most people wish they were.

wow, thats amazing how you can trace your family back that far and in every war! all the way back to the plymouth colony, cool. :D
I understand how you can confuse respect for our military with the politics of the war. You can respect the soldiers but not agree with a war. I think Vietnam was a gigantic mistake and I would of been against it, but I respect the men who went over there and went thru it.Disrespect the leaders all you want, but please respect the soldier. However, considering that feelings in this thread are starting to get heated, I will go ahead and lock the thread and allow the discussion to close. But I want you guys to know I do understand where you're coming from. I just don't agree.
It is OK to agree to disagree. That is what an Adult can do as opposed to children. We can get along if we know it is OK to agree to disagree. It is fun to have discussions like this but sometimes our pride or feelings get in the way.
