March 8, 200422 yr For the first time, since i started with my sinclair zx81, im thinking to buy a pc.. In the past i never bought a complete system. I bought the pieces and set it together.I think thats the best way to learn about a pc and his system. But now i am a little busy in work and my pc is at grown age. What you guys think of alienware or dell ? Alienware is very high in price. Some say dell is good, some say they have only problems with dell pc's. What do you mean, guys ?
March 8, 200422 yr build your ownits not very hard (expecially if everything works)lots of ppl who can help you (ive built like 6 pc's or so myslef )not very hard jsut take your time like anythign else
March 8, 200422 yr If you decide to buy your own vs building it, I suggest iBuyPower... good prices www.ibuypower.com
March 8, 200422 yr i use neweggive had good RMA expeirence with themfast shipping good custormer supprotthis is if you build your own
March 8, 200422 yr Build your own! Dell and Gateway and other manufacturers make their PCs so that they're more difficult or impossible for users to upgrade. Just get and Athlon XP. A lot cheaper than P4, but still with good performance.
March 9, 200422 yr Build your own. I should know. I have built over 200 in the last 4 years. www.newegg.com really is the best out there if you live in the States.
March 9, 200422 yr hey mac, can you build me an alienware Aurora Extreme =P ill send you over a few bucks for shipping if ya like =D
March 12, 200422 yr Author I think the best way now is a build again my own pc. I have done it before and beside the problem i have not much time rigt now (need time for playing, hehheh), its the best way. Then when you buy a pc you must to make compromises and thats not what i like. Like in the years before, you set up a new pc: its always interesting when he is starting for the first time: will i have a heart attack or will i say: YEAH, IT WORKS..
March 12, 200422 yr Build you own is the best way.IF you buy from Dell they have nice computers and a VERY good tech support. But they also add alot of things that you don't need, just adds to price. Plus, you get very few options to choose from: Intagrated Graphics, Radeon 9800 Pro, Radeon 9800 All-in-Wonder. And for me I can't really get top of the line, so I pick like the the next step down.Companies like Alienware are not a bad choice. You get to choose every part, and you don't get extra stuff. And I don't believe that the tech support is to good. Overall, build one. It isn't like you have to build the whole thing in one day. Make it more of a, "Ya, I get to put the floppy drive in tonight!"
