Steam came out when 2.8 was out. I'm not sure. I wish I could play 2.5 once again.

I downloaded 2.5 and messed about for a while on it but I'm not too good with the technical side of things.It played better than I remember but with only myself on there not that much fun(a bit like having sex on your own) not that I'd know anything about that of course....It did load through steam but I had to reinstall 2.8 as I don't know how to run one without it writing over the other.

i had no probs with 2.7 ... arty worked fine ... 2.8 in won has arty crash probs ... yet 2.8 in steam, atleast in armory, arty seems fine. it sure comes in useful when having probs and need to shout "broken arrow"

It is possible to play previous versions of FA on steam, have 2.5 installed. just install it in like "Firearms1" and if you want to play it you can change the name of the firearms(2.8) to "Firearms2" or so and change Firearms1 to "firearms". Well it used to work in the beginning when steam was still a bright light at the horizon, now we finaly see the truth and notice that it is a black hole that is sucking us to damnation... (it is true that from some distance you see a black hole as a white star becouse of all the light it sucks up, well if i am not mistaken ofcourse... Site doesn't have all the FA releases, just most of them. I mean, it's missing 1.6 or 1.7 and i also think 1.9. Not entirely sure tho.

Oh, you can. You just have to find a correct version of the HL patch to correspond. I believe that you need 1.0.0.9 to play anything before 2.5
