Keyboard Conundrum

Featured Replies

Can't decide if there is something wrong with my keyboard or if it is a more serious problem............For about a month now, every so often while playing FA or Far Cry or the like, I will hear a couple of beep/blips from my PC and then my keyboard will lock up and be completely unresponsive. I have to hit the power button to shut everything down and then start back up. I am using a very old keyboard, its the only original piece left over from my 1st computer. Is it possible that I just need to replace it? The problem only seems to occur when I am pressing mutiple buttons, such as trying to crouch and move diagonally, and it is an intermittent problem, I can go for hours and hours sometimes and not have a problem and other times I will lock up, restart and within five minutes lock up again. :x So I'm kind of at a loss, I suppose I could just get a new keyboard and see if that takes care of the problem, but if anyone has any advice to offer, I would appreciate it. :D

I would try a USB keyboard.USB is a faster form of periphial communication between devices and the computer. If this stops the problem Great. My Dads computers PS2 port stopped working for him.(Mobo problem) It was not the keyboard so we went to USB.
