well i may as well notify you incase some of u dont know about that the stars has a site and this a post that UA foudn that some LOT cheating, well i dont know what it means lol but whaterver may as well let u guys know becuase your server rules and im sure, hope you guys wnat a no cheating enviroment right?

Thta is a known bug in their cheat detection.It happened late in the match so they most likely had Marks two. (They were up by 100 reins)If you are close to threee people and nail them with a Famas and all at the head while in single shot or the Druganov.....See what I mean.We used it here and some of our worse players got "Warnings" that said they were using Aimbot.All I can say is GG UA for posting a flawed accusation.

OK,

I think we need to make "LOG Reading 101" and "Aimbot Setting 201" classes mandatory for admins to use the aimbot warnings they see!

 

This is for any admin that is curious.. I will type slow so you can keep up with me.

 

#1 If you have your settings at the defaults 30/3 @ 5 minutes and you see someone get an #1 or even a #2 warning ... they might be cheating they might not... if you want to be a wienner and your just mad cause they are raping on one map then boot 'em, its your server and you can do what you want. BUT and there is always a but, dont be suprised when your "happening place to be" sever is all vacant most of the day.

 

#2 If you willing to have some patiance and tweak the settings on your server then you also have to have the reasoning that you might actually start seeing alot more warnings on people. My general rule of thumb that I use is that even the dumbest of noobs can get a #1 warning maybe even a #2 and the really good players get #1's nighly and possible the really hardcore ones will get #2 consistantly. But I have not yet had a player goto #3 with out preceeding to #4 (ban) with in minutes.

 

#3 Let the Software work, guess what it does(Suprise). If you let it handle the aimbot bannings then you don't have to worry about being the "Pissy Admin" cause everyone that is on the server wlll see that the player was busted by HLGuard and that he was booted.

 

#4 The logs... ahh yes the logs... the logs are there to basically give you a "heads up" that everything is working. Some of the UA staff here wanted to remove the aim logs or make it not log by default but some of us including me were convinced that after stating this exact rant over and over in these forums that we would not have admins out there that just go balistic over a single warning in the aimbot logs.

 

#5 I'm sure 99% of you guys out there are great admins, doing the best you can and tring to be fair and just have fun. I only have one request, help us try to educate the other 1%.

The issue one our site has now seemed to change from questions about accuracy of HLG into an issue as to whether UA told the truth about the logs.

I understand the warning system. That is why I said what I said.This happens all the time on HLGuard systems and as you said....... It is easy to do for some people.I just do not understand why it needed to be posted.What weapon was used by the offender?What if it was a sniper rifle. Where do you aim? What if they have Marks 2 and get only get headshots.Not fair if you ask me.

I do not know exactly how they determine if it is an aimbot, and for obvious reasons they would not say how it is calculated exactly, howeve I am looking into it on the UA website to determine what difference Firearms would make to the effectiveness of HLGuard, what I am pretty confident of is that HLGuard works well for CS.

It really is not a worry.We used it before and it is a huge server hog.CD is way more efficient.We have not run any anticheat for some time and have not had a problem yet that we know of.

I don't think Firearms sees as high a percentage as cheaters as the other mods. The fact we are small and we have so many former CS players who are fed up with the cheats they saw works to our advantage in a way. Anybody in FA caught cheating is usually cast out with a vengence. Usually within a matter of days, they are banned off every decent server in the FA community.And it's for this reason, we have to be careful not to be quick to jump to conclusions. Heck, all of us have had a good day where we couldn't miss and got the accusations. In this small community, we must be careful not to accidently throw out our honest players with the dishonest players.From what I've read, this HLGuard is NOT the way to go. We're better off with CD.... when it works.

Yes I too have read that CD is better, however it does not reveal cheaters, it simply acts to deter them, and with servers that make cd optional there is no point almost. Also I think FA is too forgiving, anyone who has seen the crap posts in the firearmsmod forums about people caught cheating and how they should be given another chance cause obviously they were just testing it can tell you that.
