Game: America's Army OperationsMap: SF CSAR==========================================What was the name of that town? I have no idea. Even now, after surviving that hell, i still dont know the name. All i saw was barren wasteland. A city in a desert. No, not a city. Ruins. It mustve been a long war, becouse not one building was unscratched. Holes in walls, ceilings, glass-less windows. And rubble. Rubble everywhere. It was hard to move in all that dirt and the rubble was getting into shoes, eyes, ears. Strange, i saw no civilians, not even bodies. No blood either. What was the cause of this miracle? Every citizen must have left town long time ago and only clashed armies fought over this ruined, hopeless area. And then i was there also. How i got there? How i was caried away from my home to some war? When was i given a gun, commander and was sent to certain death? Why? Answers to these questions are buried deep inside me. I cant find the right answer. I dont know if i ever will. All i know is that i was what was called Indegenous Force and i got dragged into the firey depths of hell itself. That day a captain named Intel, came over to me and said "Youre doing a fine job". It was morning. He handed me the gear, that i was gonna wear into battle. Yes, i knew we would be in the battle the same day. We heard tales, eavesdropes. Conversations were hushed: where? agains who? who will die and who will not? I had no friends, no one to share thoughts with.I got steel helmet, low quality, probably some 20-year old. From previous wars fought thoughtlessly. I got no body armor. The units helping us didnt have that in surplus. But i got a pair of very good boots instead. They made walking easier. My feet were tired from all the walking and hiding from previous weeks. The new shoes soothed the irritating sensation. But the most valuable thing i recieved was a gun. Old gun. It was RPK-soviet design. It looked, despite its apparent age, to be in excelent condition. I dont know, who was caring about it so far, but somehow i knew, he wouldnt be needing it anymore now. Now it was in my hands, and my life would deoend on it's ability to wry havoc. Then there was a short meal and we all got called to the local HQ. Big word. It was a small camp. Us and the outsiders - 40 people in all. We got briefed. I was so terrified that i only knew that a helicopter crashed in some town nearby. Pilot was presumed alive and the choper itself carried vital information and should be preserved. Captain told us, that the enemy knew the exact position of the downed machine and would soon deploty a unit to destroy it and capture personnel, if it survived. When we got there i was first taken aback by the sight of the destruction. I was so shocked, that my mind went blank. One soldier, seeing this came over to me and slapped me. Told me to hold myself together, for the enemy was spotted on the outskirst, on the opposite side of town. Adrenaline surged and i was able to regain some control, but my hands started shaking. Luckily we found a survivor first. He was found on the second floor of a ruined building nearby our entry point. We heard him. He was lying in a bed, all in blood. It looked like a heavy stomach wound. It looked so horrible i ran out quickly. Our medic quickly patched him up and we called for evac. Then things started happening more quickly. We knew, that second part of a mission was to prevent enemy from destroying downed chopper. So we gathered for deployment. When the "move out" order was given ,my hands were still shaking and i didnt know what to do. Luckily a captain left some back-up forces near pilot to prevent his capture, if the enemy would go around us. I set up my vantage position in a ruined building north of the pilot position. The pile of rubble i was lying on, was not comfortable, but it reached the window such, that i could deploy bipod and still have excelent view of the surroundings. While i was setting up for defence, i heard first sounds of nearby battle raging. Grenades exploding every few seconds, shots being fired from different weapons and cries of pain. That was the most horrible sound i have ever heard. I almost panicked, but forced myself to concentrate on the courtyard in front of me. There were two of our men waiting for the enemy to come through a narrow door at the end of the courtyard. It was the only way in. Then couple of grenades flew through that narrow passage. Before they could run away from the blast zone, they exploded, turning them into bloody mass. They were no longer living people. They were dead. Dead. And i knew that i was left alone at that point. But this time rage danced in me instead of fear. I knew it was kill or die. Enemy covered the passage with a smoke grenade. I held the RPK thightly at my shoulder, finger on a trigger, ready to shoot anything in sight. I looked began scanning the area. Then i saw a hint of a mivement. yes, there was he. He ran quickly throught the wall of smoke, hoping to get behind cover. But either he didnt spot me, or was nervous just as me. Either way, i squeezed the trigger and saw a short volley of bullets penetrating his armor. He was thrown back on the impact, twitched once, while lying there. Then he stopped moving at all. He was dead. I called over radio to signal the "enemy down", but nobody answered me. I started calling continuosly. After few tries one sodier answered me. He was unhurt and was returning to the pilot position. One. One of... I dont wanna think about it. I didnt knew any of them, but...It was decided, that we shoudl stay near pilot. We were only two, excluding the wounded pilot himself. Two against unknown quantity of enemies. While we were preparing ourselves, we heard a distant BANG. He told me it was the sound of the chopper exploding. Half of our mission failed. All we could do now was to evacuate the pilot. And survive the process. I positioned myself next to the bed, so i could shoot clearly through the door. And if enemy wanted to capture the pilot (intel said so), they couldnt shoot me, or they would risk hurting him. All i could do was to hope that they were right. My partner in fate stayed outside as a lookout. There were few minutes of silence. No explosions, no gunshots, no animal sounds either - deserts take its name from something. Only sounds i could hear was distant fire burning what was left to burn, my own breath and pilot's hushed cries. Then it started. I saw a figure moving outside the door. I immediately recognized the enemy. I started shooting. Missed. But he wasnt interested in killing me. Instead he was going for my partner. When i realized that, cold rage boiled in me. I started running in order to get to the door before... I was too late. Before i cleared the door, i heard shoots. When i ran outside, gun in hand i knew what happened. I cought a glimpse of a dead body lying on my right and on reflex squeezed the trigger. Shots from sucha a short distance penetrasted the enemy a meter from me with ease of a knife cutting through butter. But i didnt have time to celebrate the revenge, for other enemy saw me and bullets started dancing around my head. One grazed me a little. Nothing serious. So now they knew exactly where i was. I cuddled to the wall opposite the door, next to the pilot and waited. One came rambo-style, shooting through the door. I started shooting myself the moment i saw him. This exchange lasted less than half a second. At the end of it he was lying in ouddle of his own blood and i was breathing hard, thanking all the gods in the universe that i was still not wounded heavily. It was time to reload the weapon. I knew they would come for me and i knew they wouldnt forgive me for killing 3 of them.I dont know how long i waited. It seemed like hours for me, but it mustve been less then a second. I waited, emotionless and with blanked mind. All my conciousness was on the door in front of me, my finger was twitch-less on the trigger. I was ready to explode any moment, but held myself in check. I knew i was alone against unknown number of enemies. I knew that i couldnt count on the pilot either. It was just me.Then i saw to nades flying through the door. No. Impossible. It couldnt be. There werent. They were concussion grenades. Luckily for me they exploded in far distance and i got nauseous only for half of a second before regaining my posture. Unluckily it was too much for the pilot, for he started begging me: "Dont let them get me... dont let them get me...". My heart raced faster. I knew that after flashbangs, they would be coming in guns blazing shortly. I dont know what happened. They could be afraid of me at that point just as i was afraid of them. There was no assault. They seemed uncertain at what to do.So i waited. Then i saw some movement outside window on my right. I moved for a better view and saw him. And he saw me. We both fired at the same time. He stopped shooting first. The reason was a smoking hole in the middle of his skull. A hole with diameter of about 8mm. A hole from my gun. But i wasnt lucky this time. 3 of his bullets got me. It was a fiery experience, being shot. It hirt like crazy and every second it got worse. I was bleeding hard from the upper arms. But i couldnt rest now. There was still job to do. I waited. After few long, nausiating minutes, i started about going out in a balze of glory, for the enemy seemed to be waiting for me to bleed out. But i just tightened the grip on the trigger and stood my ground. Then i saw a shadow on a frame of the same window. The enemy seemed to panic, for he started shooting in my direction wildly. I hugged the wall as close as i could, so he couldnt get me. Then suddenly the shooting ceased. For a few geartbeats i thoght what was going on. Then i hear a distinctive sound. A sound of a clip being ejected. The enemy was out of bullets and was reloading. I immediately saw my chance. Grabbed my gun and moved out of the shaddow and squezzed the trigger. I will never know was he surprised of my response or not. But all my shots hit him in the center, the power was so great that he fell from the small balcony to the grounds below. Relief immediately flowed into me. I dont know why. There could still be enemies nearby. But i lost conciousness. When i woke up i was in a hospital and some military-looking doc told me that me and pilot were going to be alright. I fell asleep immediately thereafter. It was time for me to return home. Away from all this wars and fighting.============================================In that round i killed 5 enemies total. After whole 7-round match i killed 16 in all and died only once. Most of those rounds i was the only one remaining and was in the same place shooting OpFor as they came. That death was near pilot. I was cought with nade in hand and shot to death. The enemy that shot me got killed by the nade and so was the pilot - this forbid the enemy from completing the objective.Ive got screenshots to prove it all.PS Hope someone read it all.
