May 15, 200422 yr As I previously posted, the newest of the Thief series will be released May 26. As the date draws near, a new teaser has been released and can be found at the main site at http://www.thief3.com/main.html Even if you are not particularly interested in the series, the teaser itself shows off some of the well known capabilities of the Unreal engine. I was most gratified to recognise the voice actor for Garrett (who's name escapes me at the moment) is the same guy that was used in the first two releases. (This was in doubt as the company who created the original 2 no longer exists) I was also able to locate and read an excellent preview of the game that outlined exactly what to expect from the game. What was new, what was taken out, the gameplay, ect. In the end, the author gave the game a great review, and felt the game "felt" right. It was Thief like we fans expected. The mood, the gameplay, everything. A few things I particularly liked where 1) choice of 1st or 3rd person POV. Previous versions had only 1st person. 2) a lock pick system that is based on player skill 3) Garrett, being the master thief he is, is now able to withstand greater falls before taking damage 4) From what I've read, the AI has been improved beyond my wildest expectations. Guards will now notice things like missing loot, a chair out of place, or even a missing comrade. 5) a "Free Form" mode between missions where from the description the game plays very simular to Grand Theft Auto 3, where you are able to wander the city at will, selling your loot to fences, stealing more loot, finding mini missions, and buying equipment for your next mission More details in the preview I found at http://www.thief-thecircle.com/thief3/danspreview.asp Reading it made me REALLY WANT THIS GAME BAD
