May 15, 200422 yr Eurogamer brings news that Half-Life, its two addons and some of its more popular mods, are to be updated with Half-Life 2's source engine. Valve's managing director, Gabe Newell, stated that they would not be free, instead they are to be released in shops and for payment downloading on Steam, at a probable budget price. Counter-Strike, Team Fortress, Opposing Force and Blue Shift are also expected to join Half-Life in the update, and can be expected for release at the end of Summer. You can also check out their lengthy interview with Doug Lombardi here. They cover a wide range of topics, from movie talk to Half-Life 2's expansion pack plans. UPDATE: Forum member d8cam confirms that Counter-Strike: Source will be seperate from Half-Life 2, during his short talk with Gabe Newell: Counter-strike Source will be available separate from Half-life 2, but will come out the same day. This begs the question; will the updated Half-Life (as well as Day of Defeat, Team Fortress Classic, Opposing Force and Blue Shift) be bundled with Half-Life 2, or will it be seperate like Counter-Strike: Source?

Unfortuently since VALVe are a buncha names that if i were to say i'd get banned from these here forums, it's probably going to be sold seperately.
May 15, 200422 yr What part are you talking about?Im guessing you can't download Counter-Strike: Source in Half-Life2.Their saying you have to Buy it in order to play.Or are you talking about the last paragraph?"This begs the question; will the updated Half-Life (as well as Day of Defeat, Team Fortress Classic, Opposing Force and Blue Shift) be bundled with Half-Life 2, or will it be seperate like Counter-Strike: Source?"Cuz I have no clue..
May 15, 200422 yr Author Yeah, the old games will be updated and availible before HL2 comes out. What does that mean?
May 16, 200422 yr what it means isHalf Life, DoD, etc are all getting ported over to the HL2 engine, and being sold to us at a cheap pricethis doesn't mean they're HL2 and whatnot, just means they're getting a facelift-edit-though the question I am wondering, is what will this do to mods currently released already?
May 16, 200422 yr Probably not Mac, since we're just putting FA in the My Games list in a week or so.
May 16, 200422 yr if FA gets to the point that you have to pay for it i wont play it. i really dislike buying games unless i really need them for survival. like HL2
