Both the anime and the manga are superb!

 

If I had to suggest another, Hajime no Ippo. Anime and manga are both great. 70+ volumes and 74 eps.

 

Also, Hikaru no Go anime and manga. Very good stuff.

 

Great mangas incude: PlanetES, Beck, Hunter x Hunter, W-Juliet, Angel Densetsu, Eyeshield 21, Great Teacher Onizuka, and Slam Dunk.

 

Some good animes: Slam Dunk, Gunslinger Girls, and PlanetES.

The manga progresses differently. While the anime is focused on Ai, the manga is focused on Hachimaki. Going further, but it covers a lot of terrain very quickly. Both are Grade A, and of course listed above in my previous reply. If you want to know what happened afterwards try the manga .

I'm supprised no one has mentioned battle royale as a manga or a movie...except me o'course, but that must be because I'm a pirate and you guys arn't. You must not be into that violent stuff like me. Yahar.

Well, last time I checked, Battle Royale was a live-action movie. It was pretty sweet though. If you like the idea of making high schoolers kill each other to find out which one is worth keeping alive, then yeah, it's great.
