June 29, 200421 yr ok currently these are my specs (laugh if you wish)AMD Athlon1.10 Ghz768 of RAM (DDR)GeForce 4 440 MX 128 onboardand im looking to do ANYTHING with it...besides get a new G card...ask me anything else if i didnt give enough info...thanks ahead of time
June 29, 200421 yr id start out withwhat kind of ram ie what kindwhat kind of moboits would probably be cheaper to buy a new comp than upgradeyou might be able to get a big jump in performance if you can upgrade to a 2500
June 30, 200421 yr It is most likely a KT133 system. 100 fsb Sdram. Not too powerful. Good for HL/FA. Even with a new V-card it will not do more recent games well like BF1942/DC.
June 30, 200421 yr lol freak. good thing your asking and not just trying to do it yourself. lol boy would that have been funny. woulda given you a story to post here at least. if you ever got your comp up and running again that is.layter,-G

June 30, 200421 yr Author oh...well maybe you shoulda put CPUID download in quotes...i was just searching for CPUID..i mean lets get out of elementry school here
June 30, 200421 yr Author another wierd discovery me and carl made...on my comp it says my processor is 1100 mhz...on my box it says 2500+...i dont get it
June 30, 200421 yr  id spend the 175 bucks and get new mother board buddleand another 125 bucks on some ram(or buy MB bundle that will be able to use the ram u alrdy have)
June 30, 200421 yr another wierd discovery me and carl made...on my comp it says my processor is 1100 mhz...on my box it says 2500+...i dont get it I bet that means your mother board can use up to a 2500 processor
June 30, 200421 yr another wierd discovery me and carl made...on my comp it says my processor is 1100 mhz...on my box it says 2500+...i dont get it You don't use the good multiplican for your µp in the Bios : you have 100 Mhz by 11.0X = 1100 Mhz it's the default settings ! When the frequency and the multiplican are good, when you turn on your computer, in first page after the screen display the name of your graphics card, you do to see the "AMD Athlon XP 2500+" else it is not reconizsed or identified by the motherboard : sometime you do to add the mutliplican and down or add too the frequency : like 15 * 266 Mhz or 12.5 * 200 Mhz or 10.5 * 233Mhz or 11.0 * 233 Mhz until you fund the correct "2500+" displayed at your screen monitor else it don't run at his real good speed... If it display 2300+ or 2400+ it's correct too but you do to reach the 2500+. If the screen stay "Black", the µp stop itself in safe mode security = no danger, press "Reset" and hit the "Del" key again to enter in the Bios to change the parameters. But a very delicate and dangerious operation is to change the voltage core must be made with carefuly, the voltage of the core can add from 1.65 volts to 1.70 or 1.72 volts maximum if neccessairy. Ask to Mac to help you if he is available : he can help you very well. Egidio.
June 30, 200421 yr you can find all the chip settings here.. --bearing in mind that teh chip has a 333FSB and the internal clock is half of this, you set the internal clock in the BIOS they should be 166FSB and 11X multiplier, this will put your chip up to 1833mhz and GREATLY improve your system performance. The number of your chip is ONLY a brand name... For example my 3200+ is only running at 2.2ghz clock speed... The below quote is taken DIRECTLY from the AMD faq. Q: What does the 3200+ model mean? A: This is a model number. AMD identifies the AMD Athlon XP processor using model numbers, as opposed to megahertz. Model numbers are designed to communicate the relative application performance among the various AMD Athlon XP processors. As additional evidence that performance is not based on megahertz alone: the AMD Athlon XP processor 3200+ operates at a frequency of 2.2GHz yet can outperform an Intel Pentium 4 processor operating at 3.0GHz with an 800 FSB and HyperThreading on a broad array of real-world applications for office productivity, digital media and 3-D gaming. (HELL YEAH - Shotty)
June 30, 200421 yr First off your Bios setting ARE wrong. You have decent DDR memory. 512mb of PC 2700.You need to boot up and get your FSB up to 166mhz. Your memory should run concurrent with your FSB. It is at 166 now but should auto adjust to your FSB increase.Your CPU is capable of running at 1826mhz stock speed. It is running at 1100mhz now.Your computer will SCREAM ( A lot faster ) when you do this.!!!!!!!
