Mmm, cheese. Speaking of which  last month I started working for a company called Stanley. All of you home improvement kind of guys probably know Stanley Tools and such. Well, they moved their accounting from all over Europe to Poland. That's where I work. Not a dreamjob either, but it's OK for starters I guess, to get some real experience, which is invaluable these days. Before that I worked for an advertising agency, which was much more fun, and the people there were mostly insane in a positive sort of way. Besides I could dress however I wanted and behave real informal. Too bad I had to work 12 hours a day plus the weekends. The choice is yours :lol:Bane
Lawyer   , part-time job (2 times a week, 4 hours each day, but sometimes I worked longer or at home..., great fees), but I've decided to totally change my life plans and I want to be a movie producer/ actor/ director etc. etc. ......Not adult movies.... (my wife wouldn't be happy, oh no, she wouldn't...) ... not that I want to do that stuff...BTW: I think it's so personal that my career advices won't help you much.PS. I wanted to be Michael Jordan but it didn't work

mmmm... cheese, i'm gonna be working as a life guard in about 10 days or so, and i'm going to college for computer engerning (sp?)/ computer science (can't decide)

engineering. ya i go to college for computer engineering also down in tampa. but during the summer i work at a tire warehouse lifting tires my weight and size 7 ft high. funnnnn. manual labor but kinda good $. for the most part at least.
I do many things in life... and many jobs too. I'm still studying maths and I want to become a searcher and teacher in maths (yeah you can say I'm cvrazy but I LOVE mathematics). On summer I work where I find - can be nearly everything as long as it's legal. Not really cool everyday but I need some money as I have still 7 / 8 years of studying. I also would like to keep on writing, even if I never gain money with what I write. For me life is to be lived doing what you like, no matter if you're rich or poor as long as you have pleasure and you fulfill your dreams. You can go in two ways : having a very good and interesting job (even if it doesn't pay much), or having a sometimes boring / annoying job just for the money... I chose the first. Now, if you want to find what you are made for, simply ask yourself some questions like "do I like science ?" "Do I prefer manuel job or do I prefer working in a bureau ?" "Do I prefer jobs that help people ?"... You can also go see the Center of Informations and Orientation (that's the name in France and I guess in Belgium this is nearly the same name) where serious people can help you "scanning" yourself to know what you are made for. I've done it few years ago while I was in the high school and the results pushed me on the way of science and education... it's why I'm studying maths. The CIO are really usefull.Hope that will help you.ps : I like the picture of the woman's face. You made it ?
Well Bud,I always try to inspire young indeviduals to get into my feild, not just for the money but for other gifts it give you,. I am a Firefighter and an Emergancy medical technicion at my local Fire Department. It is with out adout some of the most strenous and mentaly disturbing jobs, but when your out there lifting some young woman out of a flipped BMW or pulling some kid from a hole, or even running into a fully engulfed structure fire, you first get to since a pure terror, but every night you can go hope and tell yourself, ive made a difference today, doesnt matter for who or how many people you've help, but even if its just one, it is the greatest fealing Ive ever felt. And it not just the job itself. The people you work with will be there for you every moment, the brotherhood that ive enterd when i jion is so strong, couse you gotta realize that sometimes the man behind you, could make the difference between wheather you do or dont make it home today. People you meat will respect you for what you do. And chldren will idolize you. To them your a Hero. And definatively we kinda are. a Hero is "A person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life." And that my friend, is why we do it. Well, i hope i may have "inspired you". Thanx 4 listening.

LOL, Statecop I do that too, I am a bus driver. At least you get to carry some firearm though. I just have my little pass punch to whack people with. I don't recommend this job because it is too stressful and pay is good but not great. Battling traffic all day and insane people is not my idea of fun but it's a job. Lately, I have switched to serviceman in the garage at work now and that is a good stress free job. I work with the same 2 guys all the time and we have a great time together. Good luck deciding what you want because like many have said here after a while you might wanna change careers completely.
After reading this thread I felt compelled to offer some advice which I feel is worthy of your consideration...It is my opinion that every young man should take one of two paths following their mandatory 12 year education...COLLEGE or MILITARY SERVICE.In college, you will be required to study various items both specific and non-specific to your chosen major. This practice will expose you to many things you would not otherwise experience. During your college years you may discover a field or practice that interests you as a life-long career.Military service will teach a young man RESPONSIBILITY. It is a secure enviornment for young adults to spread their wings and mature while serving their country. In addition to learning a job related skill, the experience of traveling the country/world and interacting with other professionals is an experience that will serve you your entire life.Remember this...your life will be more rewarding if you choose a field you truly love. As for me, I'm a police lieutenant who was lucky enough to accept a career challenge which proved to be a passion.Good luck with whatever decision you make.
Truer words have never been spoken. Bud, listen to this man and you will turn out to be a good and successful person. After i Graduate i am enlisting in the U.S. army as a military policeman. After your 4 years of duty they will give you 35 grand for 4 years of college. I am Going to attend York college to study criminal justice. And from there the skies the limit. I'll admit our path of life isnt easy, it take great passion and the will to succeed, but the end rewards you in ways you couldnt imagin. But this is just an opinion, one of the most inperational saying of our time fits rather nicely right here, be true to yourself Bud, you need to sit down some day and take a real hard look at where youve been, where you are, and then where you plan on going. Emergancy servives isnt for everyone but for those it is, it is the only way of life. Quoteing a man very close to me, "Find a Job you love, and Never Work a Day of Your Life!" God Bless Bud
i will start in college this summer.. its a little different in Finland here.. But after college i want to get in to a defence highschool and become a officer

Thanks a lot everybody, it is a great privilige to get so much advice and help. I have been thinking about studying history. Mabye specialise in warfare, but that isn't certain. I am thinking about researching in what way the history of a nation influences the people at the moment. That could solve and explain a lot of problems i beleave. My dad is a dentist and a Major in the Belgian Army(reservist i think the word is) and it sounds a lot of fun, but i have the problem of a bad back. So that has always been a problem and always will be. And the fact that i have very flexible legiments makes it even worse(although it has some advantages, i rarely twist something and have never broken anything). So i am kinda resticted to non heavy labour activities...

ps: the pic is made by a friend of mine, everybody calls him Musback.

I work with Bigbud painting house's. I also do side jobs of my own building hi-po V8 engines and have built a drag racing car for another friend of mine. Would like to start my own business building hi-po street & drag cars, custom cars, and doing automotive finishes as well.
For almost 20 years now, i am working in a little bank in switzerland. Heh, Statecop, i like what you said (Human Garbage Collector). I couldnt stop to laugh about that for a while. But i think you will agree, that we shouldnt laugh about that in real life.
