Sound config.

Featured Replies

Hi, I am trying to configure my sound in FA. People tell my that my mic sounds NOT CLEAR. So, I am looking for where to fix it. I don't have Half Life installed full but only from Steam. In there I can't find anywhere to adjust mic volume etc. I remember a voice config utility before but can't find it now. Help!
If you have Microphone boost or gain on, turn it off, try lowering the voluem slightly, as this may be distorting the sound, also a better soundcard helps, but is not essentialCheck your windows settings as well, they may be a little high for the game or your SC can handle, try tweakin all of these then going to the voice thing in FA.. you can then (should be able to) test the mic, see what it sounds like, then try again!

Uhhhhhhhhhhhh ya, I'm dumb. I just didn't see VOICE in the game options. O.K. all works fine now and I can annoy everyone with my voice and game commentary.
Turn off or mute playback. It only lets you hear your self talk thru the speakers. There is a chance of feedback and obviousely you can hear yourself fine w/o it.Disable EAX in the FA menu.Use only High quality sound.Never run the sound sliders at maximum. Run them at 3/4 to 7/8.Mac
