July 28, 200421 yr I have read an article today on www.giga.de, about the ultra mode in doom 3. You need a Graphic Card with 512 MB Ram to run that mode well, with no lags. I think that cant be true. There isnt a card available with this much ram today. What do you need for doom 3 ? A Supercomputer, like a Cray ? But the game will be good looking anway.
July 28, 200421 yr no, the min system requirement sare actually relatively low compared to some of the newer 3d games, but seeing as how most cards theese days cant fully utilize 256mb of ram, 512 would be almost useless, atm anyway
July 28, 200421 yr Get the latest edition to PC Gamer.The game will support DX 7, DX 8, and DX 9 streams for videocards. That is why it will be able to have a P4 1.6 with a GF4MX440 run the game. It will not look great but it will be playable.As to the memory issue. With the games of today having larger and larger textures. More onboard ram will be needed. Also the CPU's will not be getting more powerful but the v-cards will so they will need the ram on board to process these complex textures whether they get it done in one pas two or 4. Depends on the videocard. More passes are better and require more memory.Get the PC gamer for more info. I am sure there are acticles online that spell this out.

But the game will be good looking anway. well guys your wrong! =P there is currently no card being mass produced that has it. yo ucan however, and many people do, make your own custom Graphics Card... I only wish i knew enough
